“The key is that I didn’t want the other schools to know that I’m free,” Griffin said. “I’m still going to Miami, my choice didn’t change, but I don’t feel like going through that process again. My cousin told me that Arizona and LSU called the other day. There won’t be any talks because I’m going to Miami, I don’t care about anyone else.”

Griffin carried a grade of 95 from 247Sports, ranking him as the 86th overall prospect in the country and the 7th prospect nationally at wide receiver.

The former B.F. Terry High star (Rosenberg, Texas) explained why he feels so secure in his situation with the Hurricanes.

“They’ve been with me one hundred percent through everything and they helped me all along the way,” Griffin said. “I’ve been talking to Coach (Hurlie) Brown and some of the players. I feel like they’re cool people to be around. Miami’s a great fit too because they’re really good in both my sports.”

Allright Im gonna say it, I want Lane and think he is elite, but this kid would make everyone forget who Lane was. Ill take his talent over anybody at WR this class. Absolute beast.....

Definitely want this kid. Watching Manziel just chuck the ball up in the air to their taller WR made me think of Griffin

What a tank. Where does Al find these guys at? Never heard of a coach so active on the waiver wire, and the early returns are great. I expect some of out holes next year to be filled with late additions as well, namely experienced depth at FB, OL, DL, and LB

Where he find him? Griffin was regarded as a 5 star talent in Texas, top 3 prospect in the state last year, but there was no hope of him qualifying. Think Kevin Grooms type situation, but we stuck with him when others would not touch him. When he committed all the Texas guys on the MB stated that the kid talent was at the top of everybody's board but his academic and extra curricular activities(goon) kept everyone way. Not saying its gospel but that was what they said. Well Al and Miami have obviously stayed on him and it looks like it will pay off. Major major coup if this happens and keeps his nose clean. We would have gotten the best WR in FL in Coley, and the best in Tejas in Griffin. Think Mike Williams from SC years ago....

i'm hopeful but still skeptical. will be thrilled if this kid is here in December. if he doesn't get in in December, I don't think he ever gets here. I hope i'm wrong.

Let's hope he takes care of his academic business. No one doubts his athletic ability but if he wants to be at UM, then sit in the front of the class, pay attention and ask your teachers for help!

Griffin is up to 230 according to that story.

Our Mike Evans.

I think that is a good weight for him. Personally, I would rather see him out wide rather than lined up as a TE. I think his athleticism could present mismatches either way though.

Hope he gets his academics in order.

Griffin, Coley, Langham, Berrios, Dixon, Waters, Malcolm Lewis would be an ok wr corps, I guess...

Edit: Where the **** is my gif, G-d **** it!?!

Is he still down in Houston or enrolled in prep? Wouldn't mind offering him some free tutoring when I get back to Houston if he is still there.
