GREGORY ROUSSEAU! Wow.

Rousseau plays the strong side too. Garvin is backing up hill now at weak end/viper. Garvin mostly plays the strong side in pass rush situations.

LoL, what games are you watching, he's the starting strongside defensive end, he plays strong vs the run and pass!

Garvin doesn't start anymore. Hill has started the last 2 games at re/viper and rousseau has been at le. Seems like im not the one who isnt watching.

We can all agree that the ends are playing well. I also saw Patch get held by his dam hips after a nasty spin move. Those refs sucked yesterday

He should figure out a way to leave after this season, as all of our great young players seem to come down with progeria and wind up playing like 90 year old ladies by the time their junior/senior season rolls around.

Shaq looked destined for greatness as a freshman. Now he’s playing like a pudgy Glen Cooke. Fred Garvin went from Ted Hendricks Jr to Quincy Hipps.

Garvin came in with the best bend I had seen for an edge rusher in a decade.

By his junior season we had turned him into a bulked up end that can keep contain really well. Joe Jackson before him. F*ck it’s pathetic.

Who recruited this diamond in the rough?

Whoever it is has an eye for defensive talent despite the 3 star rating.

Exactly. Sacks aren’t the best metric for efficiency as a pass rusher. Sacks are often luck, or caused by someone else getting pressure on the QB first.

I disagree. Recovering fumbles is often luck. Even getting INTs is often luck. Look at the top sack masters in NFL history. Those are also the best pass rushers in NFL history. That's not luck.

1:52sec mark, Thank me later!

Must have gave back to him then because hill was starting. Him vs gt.

You consider Garvin bulked up🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I know its Sunday in all🤣🤣

What a talent. I can’t remember the last time we had player as gifted as him.
3 sacks today in absolutely critical situations, and not easy sacks by any means. He’s diving, laying out to get the tackle. Kid a ridiculous talent and he hustles. I predict, he shows out against FSU next week and starts to become a household name, his trajectory is just starting. That kid is that good, a real star.

Not just the sacks; but dude saved a couple of big runs w this length just falling back and reaching to trip someone.

I’m just wondering where would we be had this staff started him day 1? We all assumed Garvin on one end and Rousseau on the other. Our pass pressure is night & day different. And we need to stop that DL zone blitz chit from the late 90’s, early 2000’s. Teams don’t fall for that chit anymore.

The
He’s unbelievably good. A one man recking machine. The play he made, when he’s playing nose guard
( WHY DOES THE STAFF PLAY HIM AT NOSE GUARD?? STOP IT!!, JUST RUSH 4, KEEP HIM AT DEFENSIVE END, LET HIM COME OF THE EDGE AND GET YOU STRP SACKS),
puts pressure on the QB, gets him to scramble to his left, Rousseau peruses and then reaches out, trips up and knocks the QB down for a sack. Very few athletes can make that play. Unfortunately, he’s most definitely a 3 n done. Got one more season with him. He gets better with every game he plays.
Way he reaches his long arms out to make a tackle are reminiscent of Ted Hendricks...and he's bigger, stronger and much better athlete than Hendricks ever was.

I remember Quincy Hipps! Played against him in basketball in high school. I remember being so excited he was coming to Miami and then so grossly disappointed.
Very highly rated as a recruit. Didn't do anything at UM.

If Rousseau decides to enter the draft in 2021 then we might have two canes go in the top 20 with him and Brevin. I think he should stay all 5 years and then leave as a RS Senior and be a top 3 pick

I don’t disagree. But they shouldn’t be the only metric. Look at Garvin this year, he has a bunch of pressures, but not a lot of sacks. That doesn’t mean he’s having a bad year. This article from PFF goes into it a bit more.
