It may have been fan expectations, Coaching, S & C, and basic grading out on ALL NFL tests, that stalled out on Gee W. Who knows?.

What we do know is that as a player, you play by the NFL rules.
You communicate through your agent with ALL teams that might show interest.
You show up on time, you do what they ask, and be available at all times.

These are the prerequisites for improving your stock.
It is not a choice, it is not a buffet that you choose what you might think works for you.

Gee W, as good and as genuine as he is ..........fell short on what they expected, and the result is there for everyone to see..
It is their game, their ball, their rules, and their decisions.

This, finally, is Big Boy Business, and when millions are being kicked around, every team wants value, and return on their investment of time and money,on ALL players that strap up and put on their colors.

Gee learned, and now he has to prove them wrong, (and he may,) but it is a bitter lesson in trying to not choose, manipulate, or structure the system, instead of working it correctly from the gitgo, with the protocol of the teams paramount in all your actions..

In all of this, I still wonder how Gary was a 1st round pick. He didn't test well, he didn't produce, and he was in one of the best defenses in the country. SMH

I'm a Packers fan and don't love the pick, but to say he didn't test well is ridiculous. He ran 4.58 at 277 pounds with 96% SPARQ. The lack of production is a huge red flag, but he's an elite athlete.

I didn't see his 40, I saw his bench press wasn't great but yeah he tested a lot better than I remembered. He moves well for his size but he just has a bullrush and little production.

Cane fans need to realize that we don't have the sapps, irvins,Kelly's,feeds etc anymore.for whatever reason we lack the needed bags to get the studs.two things we can do drop bigger bags which will lead to probation you know the ncaa would hammer Miami hard.or be patient and allow the current staff the time to recruit good players and develop them into beasts.or hire an investigator to investigate the families of these recruits turn what you dig up based on the bags, new cars, homes etc turn it over to the irs let it roll from there.

Any time a player looks remotely decent you have half the board thinking they're first round talent. How many times this last year did we read about joe jack and willis being 1st rounders? Hear the same thing already with Garvin
Nah the only 1st round DE we have is Greg.

No way.

This board never overestimates our players.
The best is when people get so butthurt when you point out that they just aren’t that good. Example A, I don’t think DeeJay ever sniffs an NFL team. It’s reality people. Just like the linebackers, they aren’t game changers like a Devon White. It doesn’t mean they aren’t talented college players but it is what it is. The superstars are young give it time.

Rashan Gary?

He tested at the 94th percentile, brother. Thats elite testing. And, he produced, just not up to par with what you'd expect from a five star 94th percentile athlete.

He didn't produce at all. like what 9 sacks in 3 years. He tested well in the 40, and I already said I missed that. He underperformed in the bench press.

He definitely under performed...some of that is the system. Frank Clark did well, but in a different role. Similar role to what Chase Winovich did, and he excelled. Taco Charlton performed a little better in a similar role to Gary and was a five sack guy (like Gary) until he blew up his senior year.

Here is the thing about composite athletic scores...they take under consideration bench @ weight + arm length...so, he really didn't under perform.

The Don Brown defense is a little quirky (effective, but quirky) in the roles they ask players to play. See Peppers and Bush going in R1, but not exactly having R1 film all of the time (example - both players not asked to cover much...two traits that were projections for them in the pro game).

I'm sure I'll get ripped a new a-hole for this, but is anyone else growing tired of spinning our wheels and pumping sunshine up each other's asses before every season? Don't get me wrong, I believe in what Manny Diaz is preaching. But would it kill some of you to hold off on proclaiming Miami as the greatest thing since sliced bread in every non OT thread? How many consecutive years of mediocre production will it take for some of you to loosen your grip?

Miami's average record the last 15 years is 7-5

All season we heard about Gerald Willis the 1st round pick, Joe Jackson the 1st round pick, Michael Jackson the 1st round pick, Jaquan Johnson the 1st round pick. Negged the guy who predicted Joe Jackson in the 5th round to Bolivian. Fvck around and try having an objective opinion for Christ's sake.
