Going to my first ACC Championship Game. I'm a lot older than most of you and I haven't had this much fun in a season since the turn of the freakin' century.

The cupboard is fixing to get full again after a long absence. Scholarships are back, sanctions and not ready-for-prime-time coaches are gone. Florida's highly sought after recruits, would have to be blind to not have noticed what's been going on in Coral Gables, compared to the see and ville.

This team has been running flat out without a bye week on this run, clinched their division and had to play two meaningless games before the conference title. They still put themselves in a position to win their first ACC Title and a shot (at dare I say it), another National Title.

To me they are ahead of schedule and are laying a limestone foundation for the future.

Great to be a Canes fan.

I don't know how old the OP is but that has been one of the really cool things about this season so far-- getting to see the older Canes fans truly excited again. A guy pushing 80 tailgates with us and I don't know if I've ever seen him more happy than on Saturdays this year.

Old enough that my folks used to drive over from Punta Gorda to watch George Mira play. I played small college ball in the midwest when the only thing going on in the SE US was Bama. It was brutal listneing to those Oklahoma, Nebraska, Notre Dame and Ohio State Fans. Then the Canes started rolling in 1980s. Yeah, this has been a long draught with a lot of the same old, same old.

I grew up down the street from the Mira’s and went to my first game in 1958 with him ,joe and his parents....lost to the fCking turds....hated them ever since.

Now if YOU drove over to see George play, that would be old. But you sound old enough. I was in OB for the Flop and since Tally this team has reminded me of the 83 team. I feel like we are starting the days of greatness again. It felt good to be SHOCKED that we lost on Friday. For years now we have just been MAD because we lost. I expect to beat Clemson and it feels good.

I almost forgot what it was like to win a big game and be ****ed about losing one. It's almost as of I was going through the motions on Saturday rather than Saturday being a day I looked forward to. I'm now in my early 40's and don't lose my **** like I did in my 20's to 30's after a loss, but this last week got to me a bit.

Come on now, limestone's kind of the bedrock of South Florida. Ever hear of the Coral Castle on South Dixie HWY?

Speaking of the Rock, I was at the last game in the OB where he gave a big fat check and got to watch Randy Shannon forget that Virgina had TEs, because they were open all night long. Donna should have given the check back they were so bad that night.

Canes win baby!

Back in the 80s the kids would make sure everything was the same each week for the games. My wife was in Spain during the ND game. I almost made her stay until after the Clemson game. At the start of the second half of the uva game I was regretting letting her come home.
