Still think they shoulda made Dugans the offensive line coach. His guys blocked better than Searles’.If he's not using lowriders as a recruiting tool and putting 95% of his coaching focus into blocking, I don't wanna hear it.
So whats happening at UNC then?Still think they shoulda made Dugans the offensive line coach. His guys blocked better than Searles’.
I likens alot.
Probably a combination. Better players will certainly make coaches look better. He can thank the previous staff for leaving him more talent than he left us with. He’s had a journeyman’s career and never been anywhere for more than a few years so we’ll see if he can find a way to maintain success at North Carolina or if last year was an outlier. So whats happening at UNC then?
Just a better fit for him? Or actually functioning and capable OL players?

UNC does not have better players lol.Probably a combination. Better players will certainly make coaches look better. He can thank the previous staff for leaving him more talent than he left us with. The offense being run by the UNC OC is night and day different than what Coach Richt forced us to endure. Richt would likely have an ACC title by now had he just hired someone like Lashlee as his OC and let Manny run the DEF. Albeit Manny would've gone for a HC job eventually, but Richt identified Diaz as a good fit and I would've trusted that he could've found another great fit at DC.So whats happening at UNC then?

You think Miami had better offensive linemen under Searles than UNC does now? Because I can’t think of a single good one.UNC does not have better players lol.
They've certainly had a much better performing OL...UNC does not have better players lol.
They struggled in pass protection but they were consistent running the ball. Even if you take away the ridiculous game they had against us, they're still moving the ball the ground at a pretty decent clip. What do you mean better?
UNC OLine is still trash. Gave up 37 sacks in 2019, and 34 sacks in 2020. 35.5 sacks per year since he's been there. The year before Searles got there, they gave up 10 sacks (not a typo), and the year before that, 30.
****, even under Mark Richt, the OL under Searles gave up 25, 29, and 27 sacks. 27 sacks per year.
If you want to point at the rushing yards they had against us, go back and watch the game. Their OL didn't dominate that game, our DLine/LB's ran themselves out of position in nearly every single big play. That was a HUGE anomaly of a rushing game they had...that's why it broke records.
