Got me thinking about an in-law that was married to a guy whose mother was of Polish descent and brought pierogis once. Didn’t look too appealing. Eastern European “cuisine” seems likes it’s mainly based on potatoes and beets and mostly boiling the shlt out of stuff by ugly women with bad dentition wearing head scarves. Not that I want to stereotype a whole section of a continent or anything.
Hahaha. Anytime a cuisine involves boiling as a primary cooking technique and cabbage as a primary ingredient then you might be headed down a bad path.
That said, a good pierogi sauteed in butter isn't anything to dismiss. I've done them at our tailgates on occasion. Serve them with some Aguardiente just to confuse people.
