Grateful for the Win

Game should have been 40-0. Felt like the Cotton Bowl vs Texas but with 5% of the talent. Mario needs to fix this shlt and Mirabal better have no arms on Monday.

it’s awful when people say this on here. It’s a senseless comment. Anyone who was around before we became what we became in the 80’s, and still went to games in that heat at the OB when we sucked, doesn’t want you here to begin with.
Yes, I'm one of them oldies. Shutting down the program is :****: talk.

That was as boring a 2nd half of football as I have seen in years. Our offensive play calling is atrocious. if something is working, and something else is not, PLEASE KEEP CALLING THE PLAYS THAT ARE WORKING. I have never understood why football coaches have to always prove how smart they are by getting away from what works just to show they can run other things. In basketball a coach will literally run 1 play 20 straight times if the opponent can’t stop it.
We had 241 yards passing-at halftime. Then we spent the 3rd quarter determined to prove that we can run the ball. Why play away from our strength?!?! Let TVD throw 60 times a game. Keep the ball and decision making in the best player’s hands. We were running with a PWO in Stanley. Rooster runs like all he wants to do is not fumble. And Thad is consistently trying to avoid contact. None of them are a featured back. Use Rooster to catch swings, run Thad in short yardage, and other than that, let TVD throw the ball at least 2 out of every 3 plays in a series.

We are pretty **** awful to watch and if the VTech receiver catches the long pass which Tae severely misjudged, we lose 21-20.
We did but TVD wasn't looking at anybody else but young when Mallory went out. VT offense wasn't doing much until they started doing something late in the 4th. But unfortunately our QB was only targeting young for the most part in the 2nd half

no no one would blame coaches for running int hat spot (mid fourth or so up 2 scores and we haven't scored all half). you gotta run the clock there. just situational awareness helps.
Dude, I'm not new here. For 20 years, any time we ran the ball three times to eat clock our idiot fans would complain that we don't have a killer instinct. Don't tell me "no one would blame the coaches". Our fans blame the coaches for everything, including when they make the right call.

So happy the Canes got the W, but Mario really didn't need to make it so **** close. Ridiculous number of penalties and wtf were they doing on offense when they got the ball back with 7 minutes left ahead by 13. Not one run leaving VT over 6 minutes in the game with all TOs available. They could have effectively ended the game at that point. SMH
Offense and O penalties let D down today.

absolutely agree. Doesn't do anybody any good to say dumb **** like that. If you think the program should be shut down, then shut it down to yourself and don't watch? don't comment on message boards, and move on with your life. It's just that simple. If you feel that way then remove it.

Because not only does Big Manny want to prove it, he NEEDS to prove it.

Again, his eye on Y3/Y4. I believe we need to accept Y1-Y2/Y3 are all one big "get the program headed in direction I [Big Manny] want..."

He is under zero contractual pressure to win now.

ok and they made the wrong call which isnt new for a HC w a perceived rep about his game day coaching. we just gotta out talent people. ruiz gonna need to drop the pie in the sky stadium dream and funnel the money to recruiting solely.

We couldn’t score a second half TD and let them score twice on us? I come back from work to that?

Normally I’d say the Program should be shut down. Instead, the Noles are looking around for the Rented Mule they’re going to beat up on in practice as preparation for what they’re going to do to us.

Grateful for the win. This isn’t a victory that makes me feel as if we’ve turned a corner.
You must be fun at the office party.

Agree with you here. Also, lost in this victory was the fact our defense came out slow and lethargic. VT's pathetic offense was gashing us the first drive until we got that TO. I'm tired of seeing our team come out flat every game. That TO changed everything for most of the game

Once we got that TO, the offense started fast and aggressive. Maybe they do that anyways on their 1st possession even if VT scores. Gattis clearly changed his game plan for this game. When the defense got back on the field, they looked much faster and stronger than VT's offense. I think this was the first time all year we looked faster than the other team. We certainly didn't look like we even belonged on the field until we got that TO. Why do we have to rely on turnovers to get psyched up? I'm not saying we lose the game without that TO, but I don't think we have a 20-0 lead going into the 4th.

Call me a mope, but I saw a Miami team come out flat again and look like they didn't want to even be there. Once we got the turnover, both offense and defense were clearly more energized. That's great, but I want to see the team come out energized regardless of getting a turnover.

Kudos to the coaches for coming up with a winning gameplan for this game. They are clearly working harder with the X's and O's since the MTSU game. Still waiting on the team to look like they give a F**k when the games start. There is no way we have turned the corner when our team still comes out looking like they want the season to be over.
