MMA Grappling/BJJ/Wrestling

I rolled with my kids BJJ professor this weekend and he kicked my ***, but it was exciting. I only requested that he not arm bar me, so he got me by kimura, omoplata and triangle. I'm only a white belt so it was all in fun.

for those Grappling heads. At last weeks ADCC Open in Orlando, a Miami youth team, Alpha Miami Grappling, scored the highest total for a team in any ADCC event to date. They have arguably the top youth program in the country.

Last week was the first ever ADCC Youth World Championship and a Miami team stole the show. 41 kids throughout the world became World Champs and team Alpha Miami Grappling had 10 of those!!!

DDP wanted goat shouts and all he received was getting mauled by Khamzat for five rounds.

Not only did Khamzat do what he said he'll do, he did it for 5 rounds, which people said he won't do.

Plus with a ref who purely made them stand up because of the crowd booing. Only reason why DDP even had a slight shot in the fight.

🤷

What I've come to find about MMA over the years, is that people's opinions are solely formed based around whether or not they like a fighter vs actual analysis of their ability.

There was no scenario in this dimension in which Duplex was ever going to be able to do ANYTHING with Khamzat. They're not in the same stratosphere as fighters.

But because people hate Khamzat due to his ethnicity & religion, they just create these false realities in their head where totally outclassed fighters turn into someone they're not & magically beat someone they stand no chance against.

It's the same thing people used to do with Khabib.

Khamzat combines middleweight strength (and elite strength in that department) with a lightweights quickness and grappling skills.

Only reason why people gave DDP a shot was for the reasons you said. Grappling is the basis for being successful in MMA - if you can't really handle that, you won't become a champion. And even if you train, like Whittaker, you get your jaw dislocated in the first round.

With Khabib it went all the way up to the commentators box. Remember that one analyst during the Conor fight constantly being against Khabib?
