Grad Transfer DL from Illinois?

if true this is not good sign for our DL recruiting this cycle. a little worrisome. going to be a culture and weather shock for that poor fella

Disagree. We need experience size and age. We can’t have all true freshman on the line even if coaches know we are landing all our guys this is an absolute must.

47 tackles, 8.5 TFL, 2 sacks, 2 passes defended and 1 blocked FG in 27 career games on a ****** team. He's listed at 6-3, 300. There is absolutely no reason not to take him. It's not like we're full. We have the room. If he's not good, he sits on the bench.

Also, what type of defense did Illinois run?

We've all seen what a 3-4 patty cake D can do to a DTs stats.

Only thing I don't like about this is that he counts against our 2018 class numbers, which means we can take one less guys in the 2018 class.

They didn't run one. They gave up 31.5 points last year, and 31.9 the year before

Judge for yourself, but dude seems like a head-case to me.... In my experience, coaching these type of guys they'll only play at their best level when you **** them off.

Otherwise, he'll be a dud because of focus issues. Dude will probably get distracted by a dragonfly flying over the field:

Did not expect him to sound like that

might have a slight speech impediment, but he seems pretty intelligent

Well he is from Ohio, so he's got some geographically-based DNA limitations.

To your point though, He does seem to be overcoming that fairly well.

I'll take it. To determine if this is good for the squad the only relevant question is:

Is it better or worse to have a seasoned 6'3" 310 Defensive Tackle on the roster for depth and competition at a thin position after losing our 2 starters?

Better? Ok then, nice solid pickup.

We're going to have the scholarship room for one year so no real downside.

Counting on freshmen dlinemen to play a college schedule ***ithout flaming out the last few games is dangerous. We need depth.

Not sure how this is an negative for all of you that have been wailing about DTs. He had **** near 30 tackles last year, which isn't far off from our DTs tackle totals and solid production for that position. He's coming from a Big 10 school not FCS. He's a grown man and I'm looking forward to seeing what Coach Kul can do with him. Wouldn't be shocked if he started but either way he will definitely see the field.

If recruits are scared off by a 5th year senior then they might not be the best recruits for us. I don't see why it would have any effect on them. But no matter how you look at it this is a win win. At absolute worst, he will provide depth until we can get our numbers right at DT and not just with true freshman but I expect him to have a bigger impact then that.

You all ain't happy unless your miserable.

Well, that's wrong. Having more upperclassmen is a good thing when you have players leaving early for the NFL. You don't want to put underclassmen on the field due to lack of depth.

Idk if he can play but he has a good get off, if nothing else it adds more depth I guess

I don't even understand what this is supposed to mean? I'm from Ohio and so are countless other intelligent, successful people. You talk like it's known as being back woodsy like WV or something but that's just not the case. Need to get out of SF(LOL) more often. Could you elaborate on the geographically based DNA limitations Ohio residents have to endure? So I can refute it. Thanks.
