Lets Hope Grace returns and Darrion Owens is good to go eventually..... I can now see this staff goin after another linebacker Wilder? Ventrell Miller?
 
wow this hurts. in all honesty though, how much will we really be relying on a base 4-3 defensive this year? Aside from the GT game I think most of our opponents will necessitate us defending against the spread (i.e., nickel coverages). Maybe Pitt and UVA, but i can see most of our important coverages being with 2 linebackers. in any event, jesus christ our linebacker depth has been decimated by injuries, suspensions and attrition.

STILL, that doesn't change the mission. With a clean bill of health for our other backers, this squad can do work. 10 wins is the norm, not the exception.
 
Owens should be back by the middle of the season so that helps. And Mike smith played well and I hope charles Perry can be decent. With Owens coming back in the middle of the season. Again not ideal but it is what it is

Feel bad for the kid, and we really need him with Grace booted. Next man up.
 
We should've brought in a Grad Transfer LB for insurance.

Now, I legitimately think we need to diligently work behind the scenes to bring Grace back, if he can prove that everything was paid for he should be reinstated immediately.
 
Jaquan Johnson don't need to be off the field at all so.... 4-2-5 base defense or if we are desperate move Carter to linebacker in 4-3 situations

Jaquan Johnson played great at the LOS, either keep him there or move him back there with Jenkins and drop Carter. We're running out of options. Right might have to step up and speak on Grace's behalf. We need him now more than ever.
