Great teams don’t play like we did against CMU; with that said, average teams can have really bad games like we saw on Saturday. And then, they can play some good games throughout the season.

Before the season is over, there is going to be a game or two where we are firing on all cylinders and beat down the team we’re playing. The problem is, we’re not well coached enough to make that the norm.

I mean look at 2017 team, for example. We barely scraped by a god-awful UNC team and then destroyed ND. I’m not claiming that will happen....because it most likely won’t. But the point stands that we’re not as bad as we played against CMU. That doesn’t mean we’re good, either, but we’re not terrible. And anybody saying we’re gonna go 3-9 are total clowns.

Very good post.

Good teams that haven’t lost two games already. Teams that are rolling can have a slip up game not teams that are 1-2.

Another problem with this team is the fan base. For some reason, we thought that this 2018 team would magically turn into a 10-2 team. The 2018 team SUCKED. Awful O-line, awful QB play, WRs couldn't catch, ST sucked. But, yeah, 10-2. We are stupid.

With our schedule, thinking 9-3 or 10-2 was not unrealistic but the fact that the majority of our fan base thought we would be steam rolling teams after how bad we were last year is what baffles me

No.

1. We have a new OC and new QB with a better overall scheme and depth on offense...

2. Nothing about the last 3 years of Manny's defense prepared anyone for what we're seeing... With returning senior LBs?

3. Only one team we play can match our talent level but none exceed it.

In reality we deserved to lose 2 extra games that year. GT FSU could have easily been losses

But that’s exactly my point. That team wasn’t as good as their record, but somehow we played amazing against ND and VT.

Besides those two games, I’m pretty sure we were in a dog fight with everybody else we played.
