Good news, defense is trending up

Wait so yards don't matter....unless it's the only thing we can hang our hat on then yards are everything?


I'm more confused that our corches.

When you have two deep safeties lined up 15 yards back from the LOS to prevent chunk passing plays from offenses like Nebraska and Georgia Tech -- about as unsound a strategy as you could possibly come up with given the opponent -- they can just run it down your throat and kill you methodically.

As for the second part of that post, it comes off as accepting mediocrity. Most defenses in college football are bad, so we should just accept that ours will be awful too. Even though we had a Top 35 defense every year under a coach as inept as Randy Shannon just before Golden/D'Onofrio arrived. Even though we're located in the recruiting hotbed of America, especially for LBs and DBs.

F*** that.
 
Weren't these the guys who told us the last three years that yards don't matter? After every 500 yard game the defense gave up, I was told yards don't equal points. Now, all they want to do is pull some random yardage stat out to show the defense is improved.

After the GT game all they wanted to talk about was how they held them to their lowest yardage and point total than in previous years games. Not mentioning the fact that on 72 plays GT only had 4 plays over 13 yards: 17, 19, 25 and the longest was 30. Despite just a few long plays, they still averaged over 5 yards per play and had the ball for 41 minutes. Never mind the fact they are a dive option team that is perfectly content to get 3 yards per play and go for it on 4th and 1 anywhere on the field. But hey guys, they had less than 300 yards rushing. Who cares if it was because they slowly and methodically marched down the field using up clock and minimizing the number of possessions each team would have in the game, thus minimizing the amount of yards that could be given up.

GT is one of maybe 5 teams in the country that you don't freely give 3 yards a play and wait for them to get greedy and make a mistake. They don't take chances unless you take away their ability to get 3-4 yards every play and force them to make a mistake. But hey, it's the offenses fault for the defense not being able to get off the field.

I actually have about thousand times more hate right now, for Golden and Donofrio than I do for Nevin Shapiro. I want Golden's head on a stick.

They think we're ******* idiots. They put this bull**** out there and expect us to eat it up because the media doesn't ask them the tough questions that we would so they think we believe their bull****.
 
Just wait till Duke finishes with 10 wins. Then we'll have to hear about how D'no's defense held the mighty Duke to x amount of yards and points, despite the fact that anybody with eyes can see that Duke is garbage and has one of the easiest schedules in the coastal. Forget about the fact that their upperclassman center snapping like a walk-on freshman on several important plays that made the defense look better than it was.

Of course the D is trending up. How could it not be, given last year's record-setting bad performance.
 
This guy has to know where bodies are buried, has pictures of someone very influential in a compromising position or must provide something to AG that his wife does not. Those are the only explanations for how this guy has the job he has. This guy is truly a ******* idiot
 
The bull these clowns say week after week no longer have an effect on me. It's all bull**** and nothing relative to our actual situation. But what does amaze me is the fact that most media people won't jump right in after a irrelevant stat comment and spew what is actually happening. These two clowns have everyone brainwashed except the fans. Fcuking pathetic.

F that! My problem is now w the shotty reporters!! Ask a f'n follow up question!! How about, "coach...why is it that your D has played 500 snaps this far? Is it due to their inability to get off the field on 3rd downs? Or "Coach...last year you mentioned that yards doesn't matter, why the sudden change in philosophy?" Or Coach, it appears that your defense is still ranked in the bottom half in scoring defense and rushing, you mind elaborating as to why?" Or Finally, "Coach, your defense is taught not to give up the big play, yet they are getting absolutely demolished on the small plays, how do you remedy that?" MAKE THESE COACHES ACCOUNTABLE!!! MAKE THEM ANSWER AND STOP ALLOWING THEM TO SKATE BY W BULL ANSWERS AND FLUFFED STATS. (Sorry for the all caps but suddenly my cap lock buttons "jammed")
