My good friend, Alex had passed away at age of 34 with a heart attack on Sunday morning. He and his wife just had a baby boy 2 months ago. I met Alex at The U when we were both students 15 years ago. He was a big time Miami fan since birth thanks to his dad who is from Miami. I talked to him almost daily to talk about Miami football, recruiting, and life. Me following recruiting updates and talking about the games won’t be the same without him around.

I am posting this because I am asking the cane family to help his wife and 2 month old son after this tragic death. The link is below and any amount and support is very much appreciated. Love you cane family and please hug your love ones, kids, family, close friends because you’ll never know what tomorrow brings. Go canes 💚🧡

Awful, Scharf, I’m so sorry. Life is a vapor, praying for you and his loved ones.

Thank you everyone for the support! It has been hard to deal with especially for myself who has a newborn daughter (5 weeks old) as well. For a family especially with a 2 month old son to lose this amazing father and husband at such young age is something no family should ever experience.

When Alex introduced his baby son the day he was born 2 months ago, he said "New Cane Alert". Alex may not be around anymore but I know that he will always appreciate the love and support from the cane family.

@DMoney From bottom of my heart, thank you for taking the time to share the link on Twitter.

Prayers for you and the family. Absolutely gut wrenching.

New fear unlocked. This is an eye opener for me as a new dad that has not prioritized my health and stress levels in the last couple years. Not sure if that was a factor at all or if it was totally unforeseen in this circumstance.

Same dude. 3 year old boy and another on the way and I have been so focused on my family and business I haven’t prioritized my physical or mental health in the slightest. ****, reading this gut punched me.
