Good for Manny

I don't understand all the hate for Manny. He did the best he could, he was just out of his time for a position like Miami. I wish him nothing but the best in everything outside of anything that conflicts with Miami.

He didn't drag to the best of my memory when he left, outside of normal scorn from getting fired and such.

You give Manny all the endless resources we’ve given Mario - who’s to say he wouldn’t have succeeded here.

He’s anACC Champion. Well done.

It shouldn’t have been his first head coaching job. Otherwise he may have succeeded here.

He did exactly what he thought he should do here. He brought swagger back.

The crashing of camps by rivals, the showing up on yachts, the turnover chain. We would have never stopped talking about any of it if Manny had won here.

He just couldn’t pull in the classes. Couldn’t get the strategy down correctly. It was his first HC job. I don’t blame him. It wasn’t his fault he fell into the situation

If he won and did all those things, he would have gone down as one of the most legendary coaches of all time

It could happen. I doubt it. But…. This committee may not want to admit their ****** maths and errors and se that as a solution- putting that ACC team in to make the ACC happy.
The committee has an ACC team already,, Notre ****,, ya know when it's convenient they have an affiliation with acc..

What is all this whining? What did he win? A title game everyone laughed at because of the two teams who qualified through ridiculous metrics?

Stop complaining. The Canes are in a far better place than they were a few years ago. The foundation has been laid for continued future growth and success.

Manny played the portal game and won with his big investment at QB. That and a stupid system and some luck.

Did Miami make a mistake firing Manny?
I am happy for Manny but duke was gifted this opportunity by an absurd system. no way duke should have ever been in that game, I have no regrets. also imagine how you would feel with five losses instead of two.

Lishen guysh, thish team belongsh in the playoffsh

People want to hate Manny. Hard to blame a guy who took a gig we all would take.

He was in over his head at the time and it wasn’t a good fit but people blame him.

Any hate towards Manny should be redirected at the decision makers here at the time. Good for him.
I would have gone to Temple.

As a matter of principle, I'd already agreed a contract with them so I wouldn't break it within 24 hours.

As a matter of pride, I'd know I wasn't ready for the Miami job right now.

Diaz, however, manipulated a weak AD into offering him the job - costing the University $4m - and then absolutely bombed when in post.

So yes, I hate him. I have enough hate to go around for other parties too.

Imagine this board if we were 8-5 right now with an ACC Conference Championship win last night.

Nobody would be happy.

Possibly, although you have to remember it’s Manny’s second year at Duke. We had a similar record in Mario’s second year, but had we somehow found ourselves in the ACC title game and won it people could be selling it as a success and a sign of upwards metrics.
