This class is not that bad. its a good class. the problem is that the staff is not addressing the defense which has been 80% of the Problem. We have 6 CBs and Ultra Thin at LB with suparb DT's. the staff is not going all out to get these positions. Offensively we are good. defensively we are severely lacking.

Name Pos Ht/Wt Stars Rank

Should Not Take:
Brendan Loftus OL 6-6/282 59
Hayden Mahoney OL 6-5/270 NR
Ryan Fines DT 6-3/290 NR - Some People really like him but i dont.

Good:
Michael Jackson DB 6-1/192 33- Borderline for me with all the Talent we could have from Dade
Richard McIntosh, Jr. DE 6-4/235 43- Staff wants him as a DT/DE Hybrid
Jamie Gordinier LB 6-4/235 NR
Therrell Gosier WR 6-6/210 NR - Really Raw and i dont expect him to be in this class but i like his size and athleticism
Tyler Gauthier OL 6-5/305 NR
Jahair Jones OL 6-4/315 NR

Studs:
Bar Milo OL 6-6/280 35
Scott Patchan DE 6-6/238 18
Charles Perry LB 6-2/200 44

Now list the problem! All the State of Miami studs going elsewhere! If Golden was a warden all the most dangerous prisoners would have escaped.

Hearing that Miami has made a major move for Da'Vante Phillips. More in The Work later #Canes

Switch fines with gossier and we good.... The reason is gossier can be easily replaced.... fines.... With our trac record of DT'S..... *GULP*

Vante is the most physical receiver ive seen come out of dade since i first started following recruting, kid goes up and gets EVRYTHING, not a little soft hoe like lane, ohh and these past two years he hasn't had a good qb, if vante played with hardtime like lane did vante would be the number one receiver in dade

Maybe Tim Reynolds wasn't trolling after all lol

this info has just started to come out vante was still a heavy FSU lean when Reynolds tweeted that, but of course reynolds is gonna take this and run with it if vante commits

Back Up off Ryan Fines the kid will be a beastly 2-gap NT with a Red-shirt year. He is the classic lunch pail type kid you want on the dline in a 3-4 two gap system. Pair Fines in a rotation with a kid like Kendrick Norton an you have a stout two gaping rotation for years to come.

An as for Hayden Mahoney is not going anywhere the kid literally & figuratively delivered Bar Milo to UM. You have to respect the "Irish Boss" for that one an as for his play on the field given time I think he will be a quality depth rotation guy like for cane OL Jared Wheeler.

Also Hayden Mahoney made Pennsylvania All State 1st team, and last time I check PA has always put out some good Olinemen so to be named all state sounds pretty **** good.

Vante never did have a QB. He would easily have been a 5* if he had Cato as his QB

LOL i knew you were going to take offense to the Fines category, thats why i put that disclaimer in there. Mahoney is 1st team all state but Comp is really weak on his film. ill reserve judgement until he gets to Green Tree

Want fines. DT that wants to come here? Want!

Ya I like Fines, we have the "depth" at DT next year but no true studs. I think that allows us to RS him and he could turn into a solid player. We just need to land at least one more DT this class to do the same with and I think Jenkins and Moten will develop into a good duo at DT/NT for the future

OL are the hardest to evaluate... so I will leave that to Kehoe and the staff. As long as they get the guys they want, I'm happy regardless of rankings.

This is a solid class so far as mentioned. Most of these guys were committed before the season even started so there have not been as much buzz once the season began other than Jackson, Jones and Washington. None were big names or from S. Florida so people just made fun of them and down played their commitments. I think they are all important as 2 are EEs and Jackson is at a position of need where local guys are turning us down.

We also had Cronkrite, Archibald, George, Brown, Christian, Spence and Lawson decommit since mid September so it seems like the class is falling apart. Especially after going 6-6. Although I would argue the only guy we will miss from this list at the end of the day is Lawson.

We have room for maybe 6-8 more guys if we account for potential non-qualifiers. Hopefully we will get a few guys on D and maybe upgrade a few positions if we get surprise commits like Phillips. The staff also has to have backup offers in case of decommits. Recruiting is so fluid and it not over until the ink dries and faxes are in.

This class is sub par when u consider this was the first class after the cloud. No more sugar coating. Still too many game breakers leaving. For whatever reason....should not be happening. Those two kids to Bama needs to stop. No more NJ lumber Jacks. Star or no stars it's ridiculous.

Last year was very similar in that we had the core of our class committed before the season started:
Darling, Kaaya, McDermott, Yearby, Linder, Jenkins, Thomas, Owens, Herndon, Young, Harris, Gray, Jackson, Mayes, Langham, Smith, Rosier, and McCray were all commited before the first game of 2013.

At the time we also had: Valentine, Edouard, Stuckey, Turner, Bethel, Powell, and Gibbons

During the season we got Berrios, Wyche, Moten, Gayot, Brady. We closed with Heurtelou, Hester, Njoku.

Everyone was ****ed off because we lost Valentine and weren't able to get Cook or Michel. The misses as just that but look at our list of De-commits, other than Valentine who may not have gotten in anyway, was there any other recruit we really needed? A lot of people were disappointed with that class but it was solid just like this class will be.

Homers like you ruin this site. It's ridiculous. For one, we're not aiming for a "solid" class, we're aiming to bring in an elite class every year, as should be expected given the plethora of elite talent within driving distance of our University. Secondly, we had a lot more vital misses than just those three. Lane, Rudolph, Dixon, JC Jackson, and Clark were all huge misses, and that's not even taking into account the numerous kids who we didn't even recruit or "cooled on" that could have made an impact at UM, like Quincy Wilson, Lammons, Sean White, Isaiah McKenzie, John Battle, etc.

Our recruiting has been lousy under Golden relative to what it should be. Weve the the majority of elite kids leave South Florida, and are neglecting tons of schools and talented players in favor of less heralded, out of state kids who have provided us with very little ROI.

We're a ******* 6-6 football team. Solid classes aren't what we're looking for.

We all are very concerned about DT's. but I have a feeling there is a commitment or two that are silent. No proof, just a feeling.

I really don't mind all of the O-line commits just for the fact that we were so bad with depth this year.
