Tim Curry wasn't the first person to cross-dress on film, but his over-the-top work in The Rocky Horror Picture Show was a milestone for mainstream gender non-conformity.

Here in DC, the movie played at the Key Theater (an indie movie house in Georgetown) for nine years, starting back in the 1970s. Shown every weekend, at midnight only. Def a cult thing.

Anyone watch the Rocky Horror Picture Show at the Grove Cinema on the NE corner of McDonald Street and Grand Avenue, where the post office is now?

Never saw the Rocky Horror Picture Show but I remember him best from Legend (very dark children's film in the mid 80s) and The Worst Witch (1986 with Fairuza Balk). He was in It as well.
