Golden's mentor wouldn't fire his DC for raping little boys

so what you're saying that just maybe AG and Coach No D was one of those kids getting molested by the ole coach?

No, but what did Mark D'Onofrio do for a living between '93 and his first coaching gig in '99? Did he work at the Second Mile? Did Sandusky give a strong endorsement for him to get the job in return for silence? What about Golden's role in this and who recommended him? Does Al Golden's personnel file at Miami include a Paterno recomendation letter? Was Al "detailed" by somebody at Penn State to keep D'Onofrio's silence?

Look, when somebody acts the way Golden acts toward D'Onofrio, it goes beyond a workplace Supervisor/Subordinate, off the job friendship. Al appears to be is torpedoing what little career he has left over D'Onofrio, be it this year or next. The question is WHY?

Dorito has nice ****.

To be fair there was a lot of freelancing and blown assignments from the victims

No offense but this is a reach beyond all reaches. Golden played college ball there. Sandusky was molesting children not college players. Golden isn't firing D'no because he's a terrible coach and that's all. The only reach should be maybe he isn't firing him because he himself wants to be fired. Sandusky related? Come on man.

Hmm, you must have been the FBI's Special Agent in Charge at the Phoenix office prior to 9/11, huh. Yeah, it is a reach to think all these guys learning how to just fly planes, not take off and land them has anything to do with terrorism.

You don't know unless you start asking the questions!

This guy doesn't get it

To be honest, I can see people putting a humorous spin on this just out of frustration with the whole situation. The direction of my post was to members of the media who read CIS to get their stories written for them in many cases. Look at Manny and Barry's critical pieces on Golden. Where have you seen the content before?

Journalists and their editors have a choice: They can write glowing coach accounts (i.e. access pieces) until it is too late, when they can be followers and join in the negative story. It gets them a comfortable living but they retire ignominiously. Instead, they can be trailblazers. Look, you win a Pulitzer or other prestigous award by making up a story (which means you have to give it back) or you step out of the comfort zone and ask the difficult questions and do the research. Is there a story here? Who knows, but we wouldn't have a conversation about this if Golden fired D'Onofrio last season or at the end of this season. Instead, Golden keeps irrationally digging in his heels. WHY? Why Tim Reynolds? Why Susan Miller Degnan? Why Matt Porter? Why young journalists who these established reporters will keep out of a job until you beat them to the REAL story? Is Rolling Stone back tracking on the UVa story? Yes, but that doesn't preclude you from asking tough questions to actual known people and combing the records of The Second Mile and past news stories. Look at the Gruber story. Everyone ignored the videos, the transcripts...Now 1/6th of our economy is affected because nobody examined the sources until it was too late.

Ask the questions, do the legwork...DO YOUR J-O-B!!

Ironically Al won't fire his DC for getting raped , everything comes full circle

We have some classless fans who themselves would cover up child rape if it meant winning. That's how badly some of YOU need validation through "your team" winning. I want changes as much as most of you, but some of you really need help.
