Golden's job in jeopardy (IT BEGINS)

The esteemed minds at...looks at link...footballrumormill.com...say he's gone, he's gone. Because internet.

Schiano and Butch would both be great hires. I'd prefer Butch simply because Schiano gave us the cold shoulder a few years back to stay at Buttgers. Cristobal would be a mistake IMO.

The one thing we all give Golden credit for is his recruiting. Can you imagine how recruiting would take off with Schiano and Butch both being able to bring up the fact that they have previous NFL head coaching experience? As a recruit, that would fire me up a lot more than some Jersey jabroney telling me that he was a mediocre head coach at ****ing Temple.

Schiano is one of the least popular head coaches in NFL history and is *also* a New Jersey jabroni. He got fired because his players were about to revolt. Also, not that great a coach. He's a BERT Bielema / Bo Pelini style meat head, except with WAY less self awareness than Pelini and far worse on field results.

RE: Hey, since we're talking about **** that will never happen, I think Jimmy Johnson would be a great coach.

Not for nothing, but that site just regurgitates internet rumor and message board gossip.

Golden may be on the hot seat, or could end up on it, but I wouldn't be putting a lot of stock in that report.

Especially because the "Butch and Schiano" stuff is primarily what most of the message board bickering is focused around.

Chud got a raw deal in Cleveland, he could possibly bring in Dorsey with him as a possible QB coach and future OC.

"He's a douche. No one on offense trusts him." Text from a player regarding Rob Chudzinski. #Browns

The prior offensive coordinator (Chud)really was positioning himself to just apply for that head coaching job," Smith said at the time. "I think our offense suffered a little bit because of that.

"At times, we got cute. We did things that weren't necessarily us, like the under-utilizing of [running back] Mike Tolbert. But we're out of that. The past is the past."

A agree with the anonymous Browns player......douche.

The Dolphins hated Nick Saban.

Chud would likely bring Dorsey as the OC and call the plays. Similiar to the Jimbo/Coley. Think he has support, and would be a solid choice. Davis is a home run though. Golden has to win less than 7 games this year to have any chance of losing his job. That's even more likely now that Shalala is leaving. She is not firing him before she leaves unless something dramatic happens.

All that site has been doing is reading these boards. Nothing new there

This.

Unless the wheels fall off and we end up with a losing record, Golden will get one more year. He'll be forced to fire D'Onofrio and Coley and bring in some new blood, and if results don't come next year, he'll be done.
Golden will not fire Dorito. I don't think he will fire any of his staff members but that's more iffy. He definitely would never fire Dorito.

Golden won't have a choice in the matter.

Anonymous Browns player? What is that chit?

Eh. yes, but the Rumors on Chud go back further. Have read for a long time that he is very hard to work with and get along with. Also his recruiting is a HUGE question mark. They guy has not been anywhere near the college game for a long time. And it wasn't like he had a very long tenure in the college game to begin with.

Chud would certainly be considered, and could be a good option, but I am not sold that he would be a home run option.

Chimpiano would be terrible.

I agree.

Honestly, I think it would be interesting if we kept Coley as a token OC. Nobody (serious) is going to give Coley an OC job after what is going on at Miami. He could benefit from recruiting and learning from Chud. In addition, keep Ice, Scott and Hurlie.

Are you guys serious with Schiano talk? GTFOH.. Dude is a bum! He was a pretty good DC, but def not HC material.

Chud would be interesting but he is my fourth call...

...after I've called Butch three times.

Schiano is garbage. Cristobal would be extremely underwhelming.

Butch is the best choice.

I don't think Chudzinski would be an awful hire either; former ties to UM, brings an offensive coaching dynamic to the table.

I agree for the most part but I am a little more on the fence with Schiano. I don't like the hire but I wouldn't freak out. Cristobal is the one that would absolutely incense me and I fear that's where we would look just because of our track record. It's way too good of a job right now to settle. I realize money is a factor but not that much.
