Golden's and Doritos careers on the line tomorrow night

Many of things stated here are true with the exception that Al will get fired if we lose tomorrow night. Hindsight considered, Al came into a program with minimal financial and facility support, had little talent, had to rid the program of bad character, and had to settle for guys that were not D-1 caliber (especially at DL) because of the NCAA mess. In retrospect I whole heartedly believe that without the NCAA making an illegal attempt to permanently eliminate the football program at Miami, then we'll be at least 2 years ahead of where we are now.

That said, I'll take back many of my negative comments about Al and D'Nofrio. In fact we all should reserve comment until after the first half at least.

....and if Golden and the staff blew town after the Yahoo story dropped BEFORE the start of his first year, we would of been 5 years behind where we are now....that's if the program would of survived in tact. Glad he stayed, if for nothing else, to get us to where we are now.....which is better than where we were.

You see that in your magic 8 ball? You guys that make these definitive statements with no basis in reality crack me up.

Go through the scenario and add up the disaster that would of been Miami football if he left just before the first game and get back to us.

Yeah, these clowns think any coach worth his weight would have been beating down Shalala's door for a job to coach a program in limbo with
no fan support, average facilities..
This program would have been on life support heading into 2014 had Golden left back in 2011. Anyone that think differently is a blatant idiot.

This is so true ... Golden has completely saved us from the worst 2 coaches in the history of the program and hindering death penalty... Now my judgement begins on the field .. Obviously golden is aces in recruting now he has to complete the on field judgement begins now

Bottom line on Coach D the time to judge begins tomorrow he had zero talent to work with and the talent he had was young

Gone
Porter
Robinson
Green
Gilbert
Renfrow
Gaines
Cornelius
Highsmith
Rodgers

Not one pro player listed and most of those guys were garbage coming out of high school

Now
Chickillo healthy
Huertelou
Wyche once he gets in shape
Jenkins
Moten
Chad
Harris
Jackson
McCord and AQM year older 15 pounds

Grace ready
Kirby ready
Owens
Young

Bush healthy
Carter ready
Crawford not RB
Burns ready
Elder ready

Massive increase in talent coach d has to move this defense into top 40 this year
Agree 10000%

I see a whole bunch of question marks.

Miami hasn't even kicked off and some of y'all are whining and complaining like children. You act like Louisville doesn't have any talent or speed. Over half their starting defense are Dade kids. They still have speed at wide receiver and they bring back 4 of their 5 starting offensive linemen. Petrino is going to move the ball. He's moved the ball against everybody throughout his career.

If Kaaya is good tonight, then I think we win. I expect a big game from Duke.

Doesn't sound like you're starting judgment now because you're already ok with a loss to Louisville.

I didn't think they had that many Dade starters. But the way a UM fan should look at it is those Dade guys were right under our noses, and we didn't even want them. So our coaches must think we have better guys on our roster.

Losing on the road as a 3.5 point dog... People act like were are 30 point favorites... This is al and staff first game to me i start judging tonite impossible to judge a team that had the death penalty hanging over their head... We are rolling right now so a win would be really good considering how dominant golden has been recruting lately... But a loss wouldnt mean he would be fired not even close....

A win means something, but a loss means nothing. That's convenient. Heads you win, tails I lose. You didn't choose to wait to begin judging if Golden and Co. are competent until now. You just chose to use "the cloud" as an excuse to ignore all the evidence prior to today that they aren't. 99.9% of the people who "are going to judge him, starting tonight!" will also be the same people who apologize and make excuses for him at every turn from here on out. A strange coincidence, that.

You aren't taking some sort of principled intellectual stand, you were just too afraid to defend him when things were going badly. And now you think brighter days are ahead so you're less afraid to stick out your chest and claim to have been on board this whole time.

Actually, that's not true. Miami wanted some of these kids, like Keith Bryant. The last two kids who signed with Louisville in 2013 and 2014 that could play for Miami were from Champagnat Catholic and we know the drill there. Strong did a nice job taking kids from Miami went Miami was falling apart. Charlie has a long history of recruiting South Florida.

I for one, support the "team"... I root for the laundry. Not the HC.

Like many here, we have just cause to be critical of the HC-- And exactly why must we blindly support the same guy who spit the bit down the stretch last season culminating in the humiliating bowl game loss where the team which had 5 weeks to prepare looked completely unprepared to play?

The same coach who ****ed on our legs and told us it was raining during his first offseason presser-- stating that the D was "trending-up" cherry-picking stats to support his contention, which when examined further didn't hold water.

This same coach who had just concluded his dalliance with his alma mater-- and would've left us in a heartbeat for his alma mater had he been offered.

The coach who overtly neglects the program by insisting on keeping his best buddy & kid's godfather in charge of one of the statistically worst defenses 2 years running--

That coach?

Spot on!

If the defence sucks again this year, Golden has to step out of the D, fire D'Onofrio and hire a big time DC.

According to some on here, because your expectations are wildly out of kilter and totally unreasonable.

The same negative bull**** from "fans". In any case, there is near a zero chance anything happens to Golden. Support our team, if you are not happy, go root for the Gators. You wont be missed.

We ARE supporting the team. The team isn't blind loyalty to the Head Coach.

You have a mighty big opinion of yourself telling others how to behave.

You're clearly a new guy. A pup. Some of us recall when we used to win, what a good defense was, what a good offense was, and of course, we had standards that were instilled in every team year after year.

You new guys, sometimes referred to as slurpers, have no standard. No idea of what a good defense is. No idea of what a good offense is.

You're so accustomed to ****poor coaching, you think Golden is a great coach? Man. How far we have tanked.

Saved us how? He's worse than Coker to this point and 1 win better than Shannon. And you are a fool if this is the first game to you. He's had three years to show his coaching merits with so-so talent and he's been barely adequate. The NCAA didn't cause him to make sub-standard coaching moves, you dolt. And shut up with your hyperbole statements.

And just so you know, he's already being judged. This is just a continuance of it and it's interesting that you're being a spineless jellyfish and backtracking from your earlier statements of, "We're going to dominate everyone this year because the cloud is gone and Al Golden is breathing," and hedging your bets because you think we might lose and that would bust a hole in your stupid level of praising of the coaching staff.

Because this the same program that is now in its first year since 2010 without a sack of **** hanging over its head? That program? Yeah, yeah...no excuses..chest thump.

I don't know Keith Bryant on UL. And I'm still skeptical of them having over half their starting d hailing from Dade. They might have one guy on that d that UM wanted badly, and we didn't want him badly enough to make a package deal with his brother.
