For better or for worse al has hitched himself to dorito. The whole country will be watching tomorrow. Can they someone figure out a way to get Louisville off the field? My heart says yes, my mind says no. They better figure it out if they want to coach d1 ball past this year. we will know where miami stands 36 hours from now.

Their jobs won't be on the line, the ability of the administration and any slurping media to be in denial will be though.

It's one game. We could, in theory, lose tomorrow night then run the table. I guess he'd need to be fired then? ONE game isn't to get him fired. Now, if he runs out and takes a dump at midfield after losing, then yeah, he might get fired. If he does a Winston on a UL cheerleader after a loss, he'd get fired. Simply losing a game to UL won't get him fired. It would take an amazingly bad SEASON for the school to even consider it, considering the improvements in the program. Everyone in the administration believes we are trending up, not sliding backwards. They all know Al had crap to work with, and **** to recruit against. So yeah, one loss won't do him in. Wishful thinking from the people who want him fired.

They won't get fired if we lose this game, but they will have a lot of trouble recovering from a loss. Make no mistake. This is a monster game for Al. Lose and things will get really ugly really fast.

There's no justifiable excuse for losing to THIS UL team on THIS day. They'll eventually be very good under Petrino, but UM can't lose this one and try to convince the world we have a good team or that we're making acceptable progress.

This is a big game for their careers, no doubt. That one poster who works in the Presidents office said they gotta clear 8 or else they are prolly gone. If you drop UL, it's gon be tough to win 8.

They aren't going into Lincoln, shutting down Abdullah and coming out with a win, so if you drop those two, the math becomes really difficult, considering Duke and AT GT immediately thereafter, it wouldn't shock me if they dropped one of those.

Honestly, Miami needs to get off on the right foot because this could easily turn into a plane wreck by early October, otherwise.

Former players and even coaches are openly commenting on how this defense is "crazy," this 3-4 defense is unworkable, and then there are additional comments by former players that there are no more excuses - this year or bust.

Louisville has a new set of coaches and lots of new players. The new coaching staff has had one year with them.

Our coaching staff is going on year 4.

We lose, it's entirely on the coaching staff, and time to make a change. That's just common sense.

Just like with Coker and Shannon, there will be a "defining moment in Golden's career" once every other week. ****, he had about five last year. But you people keep posting the same thing. "THIS is the game..." Yeah, chief, heard it before.

Huge game for exactly the reason that if you lose it then it could be a long season. I don't think as highly of Nebraska as you do, but we will pretty much be in catch up mode in the coastal if we lose. And the teams in front of us have very easy ACC schedules this year.

You gotta win the coastal this year, and that becomes a Herculean task if you lose to THIS UL team.

Yep....Duke's conference schedule is charmin Soft. So we gotta win this game and definitely beat them head to head in Miami.

Winning tomorrow will shut up Al's critics at least until the Nebraska game.

Many of things stated here are true with the exception that Al will get fired if we lose tomorrow night. Hindsight considered, Al came into a program with minimal financial and facility support, had little talent, had to rid the program of bad character, and had to settle for guys that were not D-1 caliber (especially at DL) because of the NCAA mess. In retrospect I whole heartedly believe that without the NCAA making an illegal attempt to permanently eliminate the football program at Miami, then we'll be at least 2 years ahead of where we are now.

That said, I'll take back many of my negative comments about Al and D'Nofrio. In fact we all should reserve comment until after the first half at least.

Doritos will be let go this year I think, AG recruiting will keep him here for one more year. Of he hires a d cor that utilizes sfla talent we would be a whole lot better. Think Louisville defense last year, that's the way we suppose to play.

No one has said Golden will actually be fired right after the game if they lose.....even if they lose by 30.....again.

But what it will do will likely set off a chain of events which will lead us into bad places and may, in the view of one dude who works in the a presidents office, doom him.

If we lose to UL, it is a near certainty we will have AT LEAST 2 losses by the end of September...and a 3-2 September ASSUMES Miami will beat either Nebraska or Duke.

At that point there will be player dissension, the message forums and radio stations will be on fire and there is no "break" in this schedule where Godlen can quickly amass some easy wins to prevent a full scale revolt.

Right after Duke is a trip to Atlanta where GT is much better than they are on the road. Then we got a stretch of FSU, Vag Tech and UNC after Cincy, who is no slouch anymore, especially now that they have Kiel.

If Miami isn't mentally strong, which BTW we haven't been in a long time, this season has tremendous potential to end up a disaster of biblical proportions if things don't go well early.

Golden needs this game bad to establish some political capital cause he will lose a lot of it in Lincoln.

I know this is an AG and Dorito thread but my eyes will be on coley. If he can not light up an 3-4 base defense then that is a big concern. He needs to prove himself along with the entire staff. With a team effort and good coaching we should beat these guys with no problem. I'm also curious to see how our team speed has developed, last year we looked slower than other opponents which caught me by surprise.

Goldens job isn't in jeopardy yet and a road game with a true freshman QB won't do a whole lot to hurt it (unless we get embarrassed) though I think he can help himself quite a bit.

I'm not saying it's fair or just, I just believe it to be true. Just me though.

Can we stop this? Even if some of you think it should be the case, it simply isn't. Alfred's USF/Corch moment isn't coming this year in the eyes of the administration no matter what. At the very very worst, the season ends with a warming seat going into next year.

It's all moot though cause we beating some hillbilly, garlic sauce eatin', horse fuc*!n', built their program through Clint Hurtt illegal recruitin', pretendin' Bobby Roadrash loves his family, racist a$$ tomorrow. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
