Im sorry, but the stuff about the offense is Coach Speak for "Coley ****ed up and Im not happy about the offense he ran".
The big question is what can/will he do about it??
Hiring Coley was a big gamble. Dude was very inexperienced. Great recruiter but not much depth on the X and O side.
Yet the guy is at the helm of this offense. Not sure how this gets fixed.
Everyone else's fault by Al's.
He tells his OC's what style of offense he wants. He did it with Fisch. He has final say, but of course you must absolve him of all wrong doing.
Oh, if anyone was wondering, the defense allowed 4.73 yards per play, which would currently be tied for 53rd best in the country after week 1.
I guess 53rd is elite?
Oh GIVE ME A BREAK DUDE, now AG is calling the offensive plays too??
Look, I have agreed and given the dude grief over the defense. I am absolutely sure that he has a BIG hand in this defense, and it lays at his feet. And as the HC, Coley was HIS hire, and inevitably this all comes down on his head either way, but for a coach to say that in a presser, is pretty much a shot at his OC that he was not happy with the playcalling last night.
Coley was hired down here with the agreement that he was going to call his own plays, in contrast to FSU, where Jimbo was calling the shots. AG could have said whatever, "lets keep things simple, or lets protect Brad", etc... that doesn't change the HORRIBLE playcalling and mind boggling stupid calls and formations Coley trotted out.
This isn't about making excuses for AG, but we are discussing his presser, and by his own words it seems he is pretty disgusted with the way the offense was called last night, as well he SHOULD be. Now the question is, WHAT, if anything, can he, or will he do about it.
As for the defense, it was NOT spectacular, but a lot of teams also opened up with cupcakes their first week. I mean you guys slur Bobby Petrino like he's the offensive genius of the century, so I would think that defensive performance would have been an improvement over what was expected.
