Golden lost 27 of 71 players over 3 recruiting classes

I don't think I can blame Golden completely for that. I do agree they are his players and he is ultimately responsible for them.

That being said, there is no way in **** that he could have seen a situation like Jawand Blue and Alex Fig's coming. After all, both of Fig's parents were marines or something, right? No way any of us could have seen that coming.

We also celebrate players with low grades making it through (or are ****ed when the don't). For instance, we were all ecstatic that Trayone Gray made it through because, at the end of the day, he has the potential to be a GREAT football player. Can poor high school academics be a precursor to these kinds of issues down the road that could ultimately end up in a players dismissal? Who knows. But no one cares because we want talent brought in, period.

It's a double edged sword because when we are recruiting players, we want to bring in the best players no matter their history. If any player has any history of serious run ins with the law they aren't going to recruited to any school for football, no matter how good they are. I'm talking serious law infractions of course. If they have minor infractions, but they are extremely talented, I know I want to roll the dice and bring them in and hope for the best because at the end of the day I want our football team to be great no matter what it takes lol. I don't think its fair to blame Golden for stupid mistakes these kids make when they are in our program. He can set moral standards and advise players on what is right and wrong, but he isn't going to be there holding their hands 24/7 when Finnie decides it is okay to steal a laptop from another student.

I can't exactly put my finger on it, while Golden is largely responsible for his players, it is not entirely his fault when these kids make decisions that end with their dismissal from the University. Hope that makes a little sense.

Now he is, but he was on the team for two years and never got play time.

I gotta own this one, I thought we stole him from VaTech on signing day and was happy to have him. After what he did I hope he gets help in prison and doesn't see the light of day for quite a long while. Hopefully can make something of himself and pay a debt to society on his return.

But yeah, I wanted him here and was happy when Bud was upset. still ****ed Skaii wasn't offered tho.

This thread and the Herald article are retarded. Manny Navarro is retarded. We lost because of our quarterback, has nothing to do with Larry Hope leaving the team or any other attrition.

Ah Skai. With depth issues the way they are, you would have thought golden would have offered Skai and Matthew Thomas. Decisions like that have made us thin at linebacker. And before someone says we had limited schollies how many players did he hand out schollies to after NSD. Enough to where he could have offered Skai Moore and had a stud linebacker that offered depth to a thin position.

Just saying but maybe the Bevin Shapiro cloud had something to do with this?

Having to constantly reach for guys with off the field questions other schools avoided?

The cloud had nothing to do with that. He evaluated the players and decided whom to give scholarships to. When a kid gets defensive MVP at your camp, begs for an offer and you don't give him one until NSD cause you just got played by another player, well that has nothing to do with the cloud.

How many south Florida kids went to UL that golden either didn't want or didn't even bother recruiting? How many have turned out to be solid players. There are enough players in south Florida that the cloud excuse is complete BS as when it comes to player evaluations and attrition. Did he not land some players because of it? I'm sure that was the case. But those 2 and 3 stars that went to other schools and contributed to their team, were either poorly evaluated or not looked at by golden. Either way it's another failure by golden.

quarterback evaluation and development has been atrocious...hopefully kaaya is the one to end that cycle but seriously...dewey and crow no longer play qb at the U, Al didn't bring in anyone in 2011 (granted it would've been tough to bring in a stud in the two months he had, but he could've at least brought in a decent player with plans to develop him), and olsen's future here doesn't seem to bright. LB has also been a disaster in this aspect...we could've really used skai moore and james burgess (i'll give Al a pass on Keith Brown, isn't his fault that brown wanted to play with his brother and for a black coach)

That's basically one entire class.

Although I wonder what other major programs' numbers look like. I know there's a lot of attrition at programs like Alabama, LSU, etc.

Alabama, LSU, etc. take the player they no longer want out back and cut out their organs and sell them in order to fill up the recruiting duffle bags... we send our unwanted recruits back to NJ

To be fair, the staff did offer Matthew Thomas, he just didn't want to come here. Skai Moore on the other hand.....that's arguably Golden's greatest fvck up in recruiting since he's been here. Skai Moore would've definitely been alot of help.

In jail, no?

Skai Moore doesn't even start for his team.

the clueless disciplinarian guy obviously does not work here, cant believe we hired the same guy again
