Golden in New Jersey today

People are really complaining about taking New Jersey kids? Wow.

There's good talent in that state and we have connections there. We need to be able to supplement So. Fla talent with outside talent, and Jersey is a great place to do it. Hopefully we keep pulling a kid every year and then maybe get an elite player every other year or so from there.

Well, it's only one person that made the complaint.
He probably hasn't been following college fb closely.
The metro Washington/Baltimore area is another good place to go poaching.
Lots of talent there, and it's getting better every year, with many of them willing to leave
their backyard.

True but you do have a number of programs surrounding the Metro DC area that recruit it heavily. Maryland, WVU, VT, UVA, UNC, NCSt, Pitt and Penn State do also. So its not as much of a "unclaimed territory" as Jersey is.

True. We had both Eddie Goldman and Marvin Austin really interested in us (both from DC), but the coaching changes hurt us. Some tough kids from that area.

Maryland OC Mike Locksley is going to help the Terps reclaimed some of their territory, but alot of talent is still leaving the area.
It's not just ACC and Big10, lots of SEC schools hitting the area hard.
Alot of folks up here like to visit the soFla area, especially African-Americans whom many of them like to south Beach, etc.
Also, lots of former and current Ravens and Redskins played for the Canes, so there is that brand recognition.
Area is getting deeper in talent every year too....lots of folks from the islands and west Africa moving into the region,
especially Prince George's county.
I think this is a region where we can nab 1-2 kids every year.

Hope he's looking at Brandon Wimbush.

Love that dude's game.

Gibson needs to be in the class, but I like Wimbush better as a QB.

Per capita NJ has as much talent as any state. Plus, NJ kids are tough and coachable as a rule.

Bryant McKinnie danny Stubbs and Greg Mark just to name 3. **** why did we recruit those 3 from such an average state?

Uggghh...why NJ?? and not hit Louisiana more, I know AQM is great but there is nothing special about Jersey talent as a whole

Uh, what?
Have you looked at the rosters of many ACC and Big10 teams? Lots of Jersey kids there and even schools like USC, UCLA and
Stanford recruit the state.
Lots of talent in that state plus kids are willing to leave the area.
You must not follow recruiting very closely.

And Louisiana kids go to LSU

That's a strong point.
The elite Louisiana kids stay loyal to their state, the rare exceptions don't stray
far and end up at Alabama or somewhere Ole ****, which are buying players these
days.
It doesn't hurt to go after the kids spurned by LSU, many of them can play at UM, but, again,
they tend to stick to SEC programs.
This is not the 1990s where we had Curtis Johnson and LSU was not very strong until Saban
showed up.

And Curtis Johnson is at Tulane, and he's starting to pick up New Orleans kids that used to dream of going to LSU, but settled for other SEC schools. He's going to lockdown New Orleans aside from LSU.

Top 10 recruiting state.. (and AG has a ton of connections up there) Don't see your issue with it.

It's a great move for him to use his connections and open up another part of the country for us. Almost all elite La, recruits are going to L$U, There are no elite teams in NJ and the stud players are ripe for the picking.

Some of the best high school football teams in the country are in New Jersey.

Bosco
St. Peters
Bergen Catholic
Paramus Catholic

could compete with the best in Florida and would probably wax the teams in Louisiana.

add St Joes. Wayne Hills, Depaul Catholic. Where are you from in NJ? I was born and raised in Bergen County.
