Maya came into OSU* under a cloud, and a program that couldn't stay on the field with the Canes in 2011. He turned the ship around in one summer.

Difference between us and OSU last 10 years? Their admin places a huge priority on being a top notch football program...us not so much.

as a result dont hire a corny *** guy with a corny *** book of pillars. instead they hire a POS **** of a human who produces on the field. Would rather have an ******* who wins vs a nice guy who underachieves

I agree with the OP. Golden has brought up our talent and reestablished our relationships to the local community. I have no doubt you give this team to a guy like Butch and we win chips again.

I appreciate Butch and the past, however the U just got out of a scandal, and is Butch trustworthy to do it fair? We cant go through more infractions and NCAA trouble seriously. North Carolina still is dealing with the negative effects of his leadership.

I completely agree with OP. Golden came in and handled the NCAA situation better than most other coaches probably would. His plan and focus were exactly what we needed. He recruited well throughout the investigation in the face of negative recruiting. He's built the talent back up on the roster and we now have facilities that aren't completely embarrassing compared to other programs.

I do believe, however, that this program has peaked under him and it's time for both parties to part ways. I don't ever see him leading us to a national championship. He couldn't win the MAC with the most talent while at Temple. We need a better coach to come in and take us to the next level.

He isn't a coach, not even a corch. He is a CEO. The writing was on the wall back in 11 when he did less with more.

No. A coach's job is to win. Everything else is merely additional benefits or detriments.

At the time of his hiring. He came into the Shapiro scandal after Blandy failed to run a championship caliber program and guided us in a very upstanding way. He has since recruited quite well under those circumstances. He has put a positive light on Miami to the S. Fl coaches, players and community. He has also worked to get our facilities upgraded.

Now it is time to pass the baton to someone who can come win at a high level.

We are on solid ground because of Golden but he is clearly not the guy to win championships.

I thank him for what he has done but it is time to go resurrect a new program for him. He has the principles and discipline to take on hard challenges and turn them into something positive and that's about him in a nutshell.
