At the time of his hiring. He came into the Shapiro scandal after Blandy failed to run a championship caliber program and guided us in a very upstanding way. He has since recruited quite well under those circumstances. He has put a positive light on Miami to the S. Fl coaches, players and community. He has also worked to get our facilities upgraded.

Now it is time to pass the baton to someone who can come win at a high level.

We are on solid ground because of Golden but he is clearly not the guy to win championships.

I thank him for what he has done but it is time to go resurrect a new program for him. He has the principles and discipline to take on hard challenges and turn them into something positive and that's about him in a nutshell.

Something positive? His actual coaching is a disgrace. ******* 110th defense.

Thanks for sticking with us through Shapiro and getting us some decent players. Now go manage a Burger King in Toms River.

A nice FCS program with no expectations would be perfect,

Good Luck Coach! Thanks in advance for passing the luster-faded baton...a poster can dream can't he?

I agree with the OP. Golden has brought up our talent and reestablished our relationships to the local community. I have no doubt you give this team to a guy like Butch and we win chips again.

Hey, we have the 8th ranked defense in the country right now at 225 ypg. If that's not trending up, I don't know what is.

holla at me after we have played Duke, Nebraska, UNC, FSU, VTECH, Cincy, ARK State, Virginia.

Betting my left nut (right one holds sentimental value to my wife....but thats private) that we will see our old friend dorito excel at the lowest of levels as usual.

"Nothing someone says before the word 'but' really counts..."

^^^Candidate for post of the year. Repped!!!

Umm 5 guys 10 yard back on 4th and 1 the clue if nothing is trending up it's just the teams we played

I said the same thing quite a few times last year. Thanks for the PR job Al, now let a real coach get in there.

We have to wait until Donna is gone. Having her deal with new hire would be worse than keeping Al and extra year even.

Naw! No way! When the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor, did we wait until the Russians declared war on us? **** no. When Mexico invaded and burned our capitol, did we wait on the French before we went after Pancho Villa? **** no.

You get shot at, you shuck that 1911 you're carrying and drop the guys. You don't wait on the cops.

Gotta know your history.

What you fail to recognize is that we all understand the admin did not inform him of potential NCAA actions. We all recognize now that the NCAA mess is behind us, he and staff have gotten better recruits. What we and any reasonable person should agree, is its not his dedication, but his coaching and on field results that demand he be fired. The players, institution and fans are more important than loyalty in a sport where winning and improvements across the board are primary. Al has clearly demonstrated he is incapable and lacks the skills to make this team and university respectable in college football.

Butch had more talent at UNC than this team ---- a lot more and he averaged 5 losses AND was never over .500 in conference

Dont get the facination with Butch...yes he got us back into national spot light but he turned his back and left. We need AG to follow his example and leave...problem is I do not think he would be able to find a job at any top tier D1 program. He might do well at Southern New Hampshire College for the deaf and blind. He could underperform there for years and no one would hear a peep

He came in, lost, produced an AWFUL product, and was PWNed in recruiting by UF and Free Shoes, and anyone else who wanted elite S Fl talent.

The U is now a laughingstock. A souce of bad defense jokes on ESPN.

Is that some special performance? Anyone can lose and make excuses?

0-11 against ranked teams, 1-22 against teams with 8 or more wins.

He tried to bolt the first opportunity that came, and that school laughed at him.

Outcoached embarrassingly in almost every game he has coached for the Canes.

Fire him right ******* now.

Maya came into OSU* under a cloud, and a program that couldn't stay on the field with the Canes in 2011. He turned the ship around in one summer.
