Golden as UConn's HC...maybe

The thing about UCONN is it’s one of the worst jobs in college football, it’s a complete Basketball school & they don’t really put much effort into the football program at all, its basically a dead program.

Their best bet is to find a FCS HC that’s trying to come up or find a young coordinator that’s looking for an opportunity to become a HC, because otherwise it would be virtually impossible to take an established HC from any other program in the nation.

UCONN is not an attractive job lol.

Sam Houston is going to FBS and has a chit load of talent. Keeler is staying put for now

Lot of revisionist history

Bridgewater was never coming here after Shannon got fired

Shannon had what 3 guys committed here when he got fired, guy quit

Golden was not a good recruiter, yeah he had some good players but Sandusky would be able to land players here as well, look at the rest of his classes outside the Top 4-5 guys, all trash

Golden was at least smart enough to try to get Brisset after the Bridgewater recommit but he decided to go to UF for some reason
 
I bet he hired coach No D as linebackers coach but not coordinator. No D humiliated himself at houston and us
 
UCONN is a mess. Obviously didn't land in a major conference, lackluster football facilities, minimal fan interest, dead end job and located in a state that produces little talent (TVD being a rare exception). Right now, it might be a tougher job than what Al stepped into at Temple.

the best was when Orlando Alzugaray at the ACC Media Day brought out this picture and asked Golden to explain where there were defensive players 3-4 yards deep when the ball was at the one yard line.

Golden got triggered. I wish i could hear that again, just one more time like Sam playing "As Time Goes By" on the piano at Café Casablanca.

How big of a mess , I mean is there a cloud? If so ” it’s a bird , a plane , no…..it’s Al Golden”.
 
Didn't like Golden but good for Him, I think a school like UCONN is right up His alley...ditch Daffy Duck (D'Onofrio) though.

Exactly. Golden was garbage. It wasn’t a matter of hiring a new DC because that was his defense that he ran at Virginia. He did sign some impact players but he also signed a ton of guys who never enrolled or got kicked out of school before even playing a down. He was NOT well liked or respected by a majority of the players, especially towards the end of his tenure here. You could see how players would just give up and not play hard. He also burned a ton of bridges with the local high schools. He was and still is a garbage coach and anyone defending him either totally forgot his tenure or is just a moron.
