GOAT RB - Vilma tweet

Payton was elusive also. I'm sorry but nobody will even convince me Sanders was better than Payton.
Sanders was not better than payton. anyone who claims otherwise doesn’t understand football, didn’t watch payton live, or both.

Top 5 In no order:
Payton
Sanders
Brown
Faulk
Jackson....probably would be the greatest of career wasn’t cut short.

Hyping Sanders because of highlights?

Are you serious?

He AVERAGED 1,500 yards a season for 10 years.

He wouldn't be my first pick at RB out of anyone, but it would be difficult to "hype" Sanders.

He made big-time athletes look like stooges on a weekly basis.

Gale Sayers was a better back than Sanders.

Yall really hyping Sanders because of highlights

Frank Gore should surpass Barry Sanders for #3 on the all time rushing yards list this year. I think Gore deserves consideration for top 5. Imagine what Gore could have done if he had never hurt his knees. Gore should receive consideration for the GOAT based on what he has been able to accomplish with 2 shredded knees.
Prior to his injuries, Frank Gore was about the most electric RB I had seen (right up there with Barry Sanders). He averaged around 10ypc his first year as a Cane (which is pretty incredible). The fact that he will very likely end up being in the Top 3 for yards gained by an NFL RB (even after all of his knee issues) fully supports just how great he was (and how productive he still is).

Bo Jackson was also unbelievably good as an NFL RB. If you never saw him run, you should find his NFL highlights. Had his career been longer, he may well have ended at the top of the list in terms of yards gained. He was a freak athlete.

My top 5 in no particular order.....

Jim Brown
Walter Payton
Barry Sanders
Earl Campbell
O.J. Simpson... (say what you want about his non-football life transgressions, but rushing for over 2,000 yards in a 14 game season is an unbelievable football accomplishment)
Very astute list.

Sanders is the best all time.

Roger Craig might be one of the most successful RB’s of all time( Four Super Bowls). First RB to have 1000 rushing and receiving in the same season.

I lean Jim Brown as the GOAT, but for a lot of these youngsters, they haven't seen him so they don't know diddly squat. Barry is in the convo too. Problem with JB is that it's been so long since he played, most of the people that were around to see him play are dead. We see this in basketball as well, guys don't remember Wilt, Bill and Kareem(Most never saw them play) so when you have conversations about players, they get forgotten.

I will say this, Eric ****erson was a special talent. The problem was that due to how bad the teams were around him, he eventually broke down. He had some huge years, but once he left LA people completely forgot about him. Imagine a tailback carrying a team to the playoffs. ED did that.

I imagine his QB lobbied for him pretty hard. A lot of politics involved.

Another good RB that probably should've made the hall was Ricky Watters. But people hated his attitude.

Now that T.O. got inducted, that excuse doesn't mean jack ****.

For what? For Who!

9.1 ypc as a true freshman. I agree with your post. Gore was the best I have seen before the injury. Also I saw Bo Jackson when he was at Auburn and in tbe NFL. He was a freak for sure. One of the best pure athletes to ever suit up.

Oh, that's what that was? It looked to me like you affirmed you didn't read anything and were making a statement everyone else made as if it were original.
That's exactly what it was Sherlock. Ooh!!! You got me. Hope your merit medal is nice and shiny.. Your aspirations of top hall monitor have been achieved at my expense, Kudos.

How was the beach today? You really should make sure to cleanse more thoroughly after. You obviously still have piles of sand in your ******.

But you really burned me by making a point to mark one of my comments as boring. I don't think I'll ever recover.

As much as I love Gore, that stat is absurdly inflated. He was mostly playing the second half, after the D was worn down by the spectacular Portis and McGahee combo, behind an all-time college OL. The opposing teams had by and large given up by the time Gore touched the ball.

Oh I give you that but IMO it's still impressive no matter what context you put it in.
