Kyle Whittingham would be an excellent hire. Yes, he’s in his mid 60s, but so what? For a long time, he was a highly regarded coach a lot of programs wanted to hire. Or at least their fans did. His name was always up for the USC job. His name came out for the Miami job. To name two..

But he was a lifer at Utah.

Many college football pundits on the Internet believe Utah’s direction towards private equity investment is what caused Whittingham to leave. He didn’t like the idea of outside investors forcing decisions.

Yeah has to be something because before he was a little young maybe to feel comfortable taking a top gig. He’s 35 now and should be ready to take over a program and he should have had a few legit options thus far.
