Quick analysis: Thier qb is returning, even though their secondary was bad last year, it’s hard to believe they won’t improve, their best linebacker was a freshman, Dline is good their strength is their tackles, offensive line wasn’t good last year, but return a couple starters along with some transfers. They do have a couple play makers at wr.

QB:Miami
RB:Miami
TE: Even
WR: Miami
OL: Miami
DE:Miami
DT:Florida
LB:Miami
Corner: Florida
Safety: Florida

I think we have a pretty good enough advantage to overcome the home field advantage and win in the swamp.

The best part of their offense last year was the run game imo and they lost Etienne. Their current RB is solid and they got the USC Guard to transfer, however, their LT is new from Arkansas and their RT is from San Diego St. Our run defense was very good last year. Top 15 I think? Anyways, take away their run, force Mertz to beat us, unleash the front 4. We shouldn't have to blitz as much as we did last year now with a healthy DL.

Don't turn the ball over and we're winning by at least 7

Will the team be prepared to execute on both sides with so many new faces and with the offense not being able to hear? This one’s on the staff. Get the kids to play relatively mistake-free in game 1 in the loudest environment we’ll see all year, and the good guys win by 7+.

Gift them extra possessions or big plays due to confusion and poor execution…..well.

We’re a 3 point favorite on the road . So it’s a legit toss up when you mix in home field but Miami is a 6-10 point favorite if it’s @UM or like it was in 19. Miami is the better team but early road games as a favorite always makes me uneasy. Imo the only way we lose is being careless with the ball and Ward is capable of those type games. That then causes a slugfest in the mud type game which plays into their hands. Other than that I can’t see Miami losing. We’d have to help some to drop this one.

Coaching on that Saturday is the one area that makes me worry more than I should.

Dont forget penalties. Mario is tuff n fizical but his teams seem to lack discipline, going back to Oregon lots of penalties. Last year we had alot of knucklehead penalties, even in late game situation that hurt us.

I'm in the same boat. If Mario/Dawson were just a bit better in that department I'd give us an 80% chance to win. I'm at about 50-55% right now. Regardless of talent, that's an SEC opponent in a LOUD environment who usually wins at home.

100%. And it’s all of it. Not just Mario’s normal ****. I mean full on preparation in camp. Are they gonna practice for hours and hours in silence to prep? Or are we gonna half-*** it and Cam gonna be standing in the shotgun on 3rd and 8 looking to the sideline and Carpenter gonna whiz the ball past his head when he’s not ready cause we’re not on the same page? If both teams play clean I REALLY like our chances. If we don’t, all bets are off.
