Girard Pringle Jr (not hurt) forgotten?

haven't heard that Lyle got number 2 yet, if I missed it my bad. Lyle was mad disappointing last season in terms of his vision, lets see if he turns it around this season. I hope he does

Lol practice hasn’t started so you’re not gonna hear anything. It was more of a prediction. I believe this is Lyle’s year to surprise people. I love Pringle’s potential and game, though. Just not sure how much he’s used this season.

I got Pringle and Brown above Lyle from what I seen last year, take away that run Lyle had vs USF and it didn't look good for him imo. I thought his balance would carry over from HS and it did not, hopefully in his third year he puts it all together and is the RB many thought he was when we flipped him.

If lyle wins the job then play him, but its kinda odd we’re questioning if pringle will play with how well he played down the stretch while lyle hasn’t done much besides garbage time runs

Like @bshaw28 said, Pringle gave up ZERO sacks. Let's not get carried away thinking he was fried chicken as a blocker.

Lyle got beat by a freshman during the spring game. This dude needs a patent on the hype cause it's impressive TBH. He had me fooled. I have no hate for Marty in my heart, Lyle is another situation.

With a full RB room and Mario’s history of rotating backs, nothing would surprise me. Last year, Pringle got his opportunity because of injuries and gave the offense the spark it needed. Hopefully, he gets carries every game.

He better learn how to pass block, that’s all that needs to be said on that. If he can’t do that, he’s not gonna be on the field much. Which is exactly why you didn’t see him in the playoffs.
 
In 2025 Miami recorded 35 carries per game. Across 12 games + ACCCG call it 450 carries to distribute.

I think you start slower with Fletcher early in the year and let Lyle, Brown, and Pringle fight it out vs Stanford, FAMU, Wake, and CMU.

Keep Fletcher and Brown in bubble wrap until October 3rd. Let those two absolutely wear down Clemson and Florida State, and then let me chill until ND

As we saw last year, Brown is going to be a huge part of what we do in our biggest games

As for the versatility aspect, I honestly think Marty Brown's reps are better suited, not just for short yardage but for bad weather games as well. If we get an early season snow at Notre Dame, I would bump Marty Brown's reps up a notch.

"Agreed. There are things Brown does well but he’s below average as an FBS running back. We desperately need one of our other guys to get better at blocking."

Seeing as how they put in work to keep him from the portal, I would assume they'll use him quite a bit.

Your strategy leads to an anemic offense which is what we saw for the entire middle of the season. There is a reason the offense picked up steam with Pringle in.
You can't just 4gard your way into a successful offense. Explosive plays are the single most important factor for offensive success

Also the problem is it just assumes Fletcher or Brown don’t miss blocks, which as much as people want to believe, is entirely false. Idk why people act like Fletcher has been some elite pass blocker… plus he basically has provided zero in the pass game over his career…. There is a reason staff even had Brown over Fletcher in critical moments when we needed to pass…

Pringle getting snaps with no fear of Beck getting pressured against NC State, Pitt and Va Tech are not what I am talking about. Playoff teams with real defenses is the concern. Those 3 teams he feasted on were garbage, but yes, he did play well in those games I won't take that away from him. Brown and Fletch are who I will lean on in those games. That's how you win those games.
We struggled with explosive plays because we had no big playmakers at WR outside of Mali and he did all his damage in the short and mid passing game. We had no threat at TE either.
That won't be the case this year, but getting all of our backs snaps is going to be impossible so there will still be some sad faces on the sideline.
I never said that Fletch and Brown are perfect in pass protect. Maybe others did. I just trust them more than Pringle last season in those playoff games.

Dude you don't need explosive playmakers exclusively out of WR. Rbs can provide explosiveneds too.

Like okay you trusted them more in pass pro. Yet we KNOW we didn't have explosion out of WRs, so why the **** would Pringles explosivotiy not be vastly more important and "worth" the negatives. That's the point. The ONLY reason it turned out well is because Fletcher generated explosive runs for the first time in his career. That is just a fact. If Fletcher had played in the playoffs the same way he had his previous like 20 games.... We probably don't even beat A&M. You NEED players that can generate explosive plays. Pringle being a downgrade at Pass Blocking does NOT outweigh that.
