This is it. He always had the ability to excel close to the LOS. He just needed to toughen up, and he's done that. He's really turned it up.

Gil is basically our defensive captain and invaluable. He gets the older linebackers lined up correctly and wins more 1-on-1 plays than anyone on the team. He just has more talent and heart than most of our back 7 players. In fact the only competition for Gil in the back 7 is Bolden.

Assuming no one does anything dumb, we fix the scheme and we find a couple of impact transfers in the secondary (which is a lot, I know)...Gil, Couch, Smith, Brooks and Nesta will be a really nice spine.

no. Gil gets props when playing well and Patke gets **** on when Gil makes a bad play
