Yes, so what you're saying is Golden should lie to recruits like Urban does. Of course, when a recruit even THINKS the coaches miscommunicated something about what position this staff wants them at, the haters instantly use that to attack Golden. If he outright lied to Gibson, they'd attack Golden for mistreating S. Florida recruits and making others question the staff's honesty. If he doesn't lie, they whine that he doesn't lie. No, Lawson is not a traditional pro-style QB, but he has a lot of skill and potential as a QB. Unlike Gibson, he can throw the ball. There's a reason Gibson is not even labeled as a QB, but an athlete, and most major programs don't want him as a QB.

You're focused on him being a game-changing QB. I'm not. And neither is Irvin Meyers no matter what he said to dupe Gibson. If he develops there and can beat out a guy like Barrett, then they'll keep him there. If he doesn't they'll have a big athletic monster WR.

Pimp, you know the U has ALWAYS had a certain type of QB. it's that type of QB that was a foundation for why you are as passionate of a fan as you are....awesome.

But the Treon situation was a no-win for the U, regardless of who was coaching. The kid wanted to play QB and I just feel like this scenario you paint where all Miami had to do was give him a shot is shortsighted. So they give him " a shot"...and then what? Yeah, Kirkland's handlers get some of the blame as well. Kirkland looks like a good player, but we're more than fine with Nick Linder and the other young pups on the roster. And Arkansas is on course to finish 0-8 in the SEC again so I'm sure Denver is enjoying his time losing in Fayetteville.
