Gibson marries Meyer

Wrong......

Fact: Treon said, "I know I can play another position. I just want a shot a QB." WHAT THE F*CK WAS THE PROBLEM?

Give him a shot. If he does great. Awesome. If not, we have a great prospect at WR or DB.

Folden failed. Folden finally saw the light and offered, days before NSD, at QB but it was too late.

FACT.....

Fly The F*cking Banner.....

P.S. Denver Kirkland is turning into a beast at Arkansas. Remember how Folden Phucked that up, right?

Kirkland was committed to two different schools. Did Fisher **** it up too?

But wait, Treon was never going to play quarterback at Florida. Oh wait. Gibson isn't going to beat out Kaaya and he knows it. I'm pretty certain he won't beat out J.T. Barrett either, who is a redshirt freshman and playing really, really well. Quite honestly, Gibson is making a bad choice. He should head to Auburn (Marshall is a senior) or Alabama (Sims is a senior and Coker is a junior). He can compete there very early. Odds are that Gibson transfers if he wants to play quarterback.

Yeah, Kirkland's handlers get some of the blame as well. Kirkland looks like a good player, but we're more than fine with Nick Linder and the other young pups on the roster. And Arkansas is on course to finish 0-8 in the SEC again so I'm sure Denver is enjoying his time losing in Fayetteville.

And Miami f'ed so badly with Kirkland that Ice Harris decided to join the staff at Miami the next year...LoL.

treon isn't allowed to throw at UF. dont really call him a QB if u all do is hand it off.

Treon beat a highly ranked UGA team. Kaaya Choked. LOL

It is what it is.........

I like Kaaya, but he hasn't beat anybody as a starting QB.

Treon did nothing in that game. Might as well have been the punter in there handing the ball off to the RBs.

Well, you should have been there, Publix Bag Boy. There goes that theory. LOL

I am not crowning TH as the greatest, but he won the game. He did a great job calling the offensive checks. He gets credit for that. To the untrained eye, it may have looked like he simply handed the ball off. Also, UF wasn't running a check with me Offense, like UM and man others run. TH had to make the calls. TH got the job done in that aspect.

Stop hating and just continue to Swallow Folden's ****.

I think the difference here is that with Gibson, I've heard so much about his potential NFL future as a WR...and THAT is a HUGE difference when comparing the situations. Pimp, you know the U has ALWAYS had a certain type of QB. it's that type of QB that was a foundation for why you are as passionate of a fan as you are....awesome.

But the Treon situation was a no-win for the U, regardless of who was coaching. The kid wanted to play QB and I just feel like this scenario you paint where all Miami had to do was give him a shot is shortsighted. So they give him " a shot"...and then what? He's not the type of QB that fits...so he likely doesnt succeed and then people hate even more because you ruined his chance at success, etc
I think they did him right by being honest and letting him find a better situation for himself. I hope kids and families of future HS students see this.
With Gibson, I think it's about how amazing a WR prospect many feel he would be at Miami...that fuels a lot of it.

There was no reason to throw against Georgia. Shoot, Brad only threw 16 times against Virginia Tech and 17 times against North Carolina.

LULZ at the clowns who assume Irvin Meyers is going to play Gibson at QB. Meyers just did a better job selling Gibson than the puffy weasel did.

Meyers, as usual, walked Fat Boy Fat like the bloated, panting Cushing's Disease afflicted dog that he is. It's about as sad as it gets when a dude in Ohio can walk down into Fat Foldo's backyard and take whoever he wants from him whenever he wants. The motherfcker is in fcking goddam Ohio and takes who he wants from Foldo. Sad stuff when not only is fsu and ufayg whipping his fat *** but a dude in Ohio is also using him.

To his credit, Meyer won a national championship with a guy who didn't know how to throw the football. Gibson was never going to be a QB here. We have a pro-style offense. He's probably not going to be a QB at OSU either, but at least they could reasonably sell him the idea. There a ton of recruits to ***** about leaving south Florida. Gibson isn't one of them.

Nah. I think I'll bytch about losing a major game-changing talent from a backyard HS coached by a UM alum. I don't think it's good to keep losing all those major talents from our backyard and excusing it away with "well, we got other guys" or some other crap.

You think Lawson is a traditional pro-style QB? Are all the QBs FSU is acquiring traditional pro style guys because that's what they run. Or are they simply acquiring the best available talent and are willing to tweak their system or move guys around?

Yeah, Gibson's really a game-changing QB. Let's revisit this thread in a few years.
You're focused on him being a game-changing QB. I'm not. And neither is Irvin Meyers no matter what he said to dupe Gibson. If he develops there and can beat out a guy like Barrett, then they'll keep him there. If he doesn't they'll have a big athletic monster WR.

You don't lose athletes like this from your backyard so consistently and just shrug it off.

And, yeah, I'm sure some nerdy ****** will scour the archives in a few years looking for this thread if he thinks he said something smart or if he's looking to nick another poster he's obsessed with.

There's no way to fault Golden on this. The kid will not be convinced to join a program that runs a pro-style offense. In no way does he ever become a QB in a pro-style offense and he KNOWS that. He has said as much. He will likely end up as a WR, but a WR in a spread offense, because he's going to a school where he at least has a chance of being a QB.

Expand your mind. We run a pro style offense because Kaaya has concrete feet and is a pure drop back passer. Do you have any idea how easy it is to change from a shotgun passing offense, which is what we've run regularly under Coley, to a shotgun read option style offense? All it takes is a QB with a different skill set.

Do you honestly think we will be an under center pro passing offense if Lawson wins the job here? Or do you think we might tweak the offense a little to take advantage of his great running ability? Every coach in football today wants a QB who can scare the **** out of a defense with his arm and legs. UM is no different.

Meyers ragdolled Folden again. It's ok to admit it. Meyers has a freshman QB in front of Gibson named Barrett who is going to be just as hard to beat out as Kaaya.

We've run a pro-style offense for years. You're crying about not getting a guy who wants to be a QB in a spread offense and you sound ridiculous. Cry about Dalvin Cook, cry about Sony Michel, cry about JC Jackson, don't cry about Torrance Gibson because we never had a shot.

Ok. You win, dopey. It is written in the books that UM can never run anything but an under center pro style drop back offense. I hope Lawson doesn't read your edict and decommit.

You switch from paint and now just straight up huffing gasoline? Get your head right, son. Getting banned from Shell and Hess stations ain't no way to be. Fly da banner, huff da fumes. Fly da banner, huff da fumes.

Pro-style offense has been Miami road to NCs since Howard, just like aggressive attacking defense. Al has been tying to change our DNA on defense and it has been a disaster. Saban won 3 NC's with pro-style. The "read" option is just slight variation of the option college football ran until THE U destroyed it. Now it is back, not coincidentally, with the demise of our team. Give us back our old defenses and the read option goes the way of the wishbone in short order. It is a office for teams lacking talent and good olines. What did Ray say about the read option before the Super Bowl with urber read option San Fran? Think was something like is was not hard to beat it. Wait, he is from THE U, the school that destroyed the option, why would he fear it.

Saying he brings more to the table and thus is better than Kaaya is far from a fact. Just because he can run well doesn't mean he brings more to the table. He has a lot of potential (far more than Gibson as a QB) but is still very raw. Kaaya has shown the mechanics, understanding of the offense and defenses, touch on his passes, and anticipation, that indicates he can be a great one. There are many QBs out there that have the added dimension of being able to run but couldn't hold the jock strap of some fairly immobile QBs.

The dopey UM fans in here don't want Lawson because he brings a running threat from the QB spot, and UM can only be an I-formation old school 80s offense because that's what we did in the old days when we won.

UM can't tweak its approach on offense to take advantage of what every great offensive mind in football wants--a QB who can make plays with his arm and his legs. We didn't do that in the 80s, and, by God, we ain't gonna do it now!

Now pass me my Z Cavarachi pants, my LA Looks gel, and my Dexie's Midnight Runners cassette.

These Miami fans have become a parody of what Miami fans used to laugh at--a bunch of glory days turds. They sound like the "Michigan Man" idiots who killed that program.
