Get a Grip People.... my obsevations

10+ years of the same exact bull****, capped off by a performance that we heard was going to be different all summer long, and you are telling people to get a grip?

Agree, but I'll add that this loss starts and ends with the offensive play-calling. Everything else was manageable first-game stuff. But Coley's performance as OC was atrocious.

This right here. Poor play calling combined with the shaky QB (which is not really surprising) doomed this team.

Goes without saying the OL was not good but with Louisville basically running downhill with 8-9 in the box and zero adjustment from Coley that is moreso on the OC than anything.

Between the penalty on Duke's wheel route (a beautiful play and throw), 3 points in two possessions inside the 10 .... Very disappointing.

Positives:

We had some penetration by the DL which gave the offense two huge gifts at the 10 yard line....

A couple of pass break-ups

Until the 4th the defense played hard

WR's and TE were open all game long

With exception of one punt the punter did well (he had plenty of tries)

Negatives:

We got some dumb asses on the team. I mean an O-line running downfield on a pass play? That **** is Pop Warner league man. Even the announcers were baffled someone would do that in a college game. Stacey Coley fielding a punt at his 2 with 3 UL guys right there to tackle him? Brad Kaka throwing a screen backwards and of course at the feet of the WR. Durrr...

I honestly am not sure who is teaching these kids to block, thinking maybe they hired some matadores (Ole!) from Spain or something. The O-line lost tons of 1 vs 1 battles. The WR's....I mean they need to watch tape of Louisville on offense so our WR's can learn how to block. It was almost comical. UL ran a bubble screen = 10 yard pick-up with the corners getting pancacked. Miami ran a bubble screen = 3 yard tackle loss by the corners. And nobody picked up their blitzes...I mean all game long. Their DC must have been laughing all the way to the bank. 3rd down...hmm, let's see, BLITZ! Again!, for the 11th straight time. Durrr....

Someone needs to tell our team and defensive coaches that the middle of the field is fair game. I mean other teams are allowed to throw there. You gotta defend it. Sounds like crazy talk I know but it really is.

Defense quit in the 4th, and I don't blame em. I mean, why bother?

Kaka looked like Kyle Wright out there. Not entirely his fault, as like our aforementioned former quarterback his first season curse is to be saddled with a **** offensive line. Basically though, when he feels rushed, he throws like garbage. Anyone can throw when they can sit back there a sip on a cup of coffee. I hope he gets better, but so far color me unimpressed.

Special teams under Golden has always found a way to crap up one or two crucial plays a game. They play fine 80-90% of the time but then they find a way to completely derail the team when it is getting some momentum. Pay attention, you'll see it's a trend.

Running against 9 man fronts doesn't usually work.

UL is NOT a good team folks. Get this in your head. They replaced 5 of their front 7. Played without their best wr and rb. Played with a first time starter at QB who did not impress me. Played under a COMPLETELY NEW COACHING STAFF. They remind me of Maryland under Golden's debut. Looked solid against us of course but then proceeded to lose most of their games.

I am not seeing improvement here. Not seeing 4 out of 5 years of out recruiting everyone in the coastal type of performance. Not seeing how this team will exceed the performance of a Randy Shannon or Larry Coker led team?

Positives: the game is over

Negatives: I'm still a Hurricanes fan

the defense "improvement" line is really really ***cing weak at this point. we had the same fools gold last year.

the UL QB and their WRs (along with the refs) tried their best to keep us in the game. keep in mind that the 2 best players on the UL offense were out for the game. marinate on that.

there is absolutely no doubt that F/A/G is a goner. in reality he shoulda been fired after the bowl game.

Not necessarily... Last year our couldnt generate nada aginst the pass last year and we continously played out of position... I was really impressed with Kamalu and Armbrister, they played well..so they are getting coached up its just seems like offense last year put up numbers and defense sucked, now so far offense suckin and defense playing decent....its only one game, but we will see..

Good points... Now sure what people were expecting since this team beat the chit out of us last game...

Its game 1 everybody here's my take on it....everybody bringing out the negatives, but there were some positive moments...
POSITIVES
* We actually generated a pretty good pass rush..had a few strip sacks

* Not many missed tackles...quite a few tackles for loss

* LBs played decent..Perryman (of course), with Armbrister

*Our secondary is special maybe one or two broken coverages, but overall solid

* Most importantly, our D didn't give up 500 yards and were pretty stout....3 and outs on offense killed us....

*Kaaya looked good for a freshman. He made late mistakes but overall he's goin to be very good

*Duke, Dorsett, and Malcolm Lewis all look faster and healthy..will be big in the long run

NEGATIVES

* Our Veteran O line freakin sucked! No protection too many tackles for loss and dumb *** penalties

* lost red zone opportunities (should let duke just run it)

* too many WR screen passes (Coley catches that low ball, we have all momentum) Kaaya rushed it..plus should have been a penalty on Louiville (13men on field)

All in all I was ok with the defense, but the O Line is what really killed us..better protection better productivity

get real if they had a good qb they would of torched us too, the gators didnt torch us last year for the same reason

What's pathetic is fans like you get your thong in a bunch and mad cause we lost a competitive game till the 4th quarter...Did u expect us not to lose this year??? Did u think we were just goin to go into Louisville and whip their ***? If u did I think u need to kill YOURSELF....f*ck playing in traffic just lay down on I-95 and become a human speed bump...smh....I expected us to win, but was being realistic if we lost. Its not like we lost to Virginia again or something...there is improvement, just a new QB which is just the most important position on the field... Like I said get a grip

thing is the gators did torch us, they just turned the ball over 5 times. Otherwise they moved the ball at will

What's the point of having a fast veteran secondary that you utilize by playing prevent defense to start the game. Don't get me started on the 3 dancing bears D-Line strategy to go along with it!! That unagressive strategy plagued the team all night in how we approached the game. They still are babysitting this team!

Yeah Golden gets it!!! He brought East Coast slow read react football to the 305. There isn't a single legit high school program down here that plays the game this way! How do you expect a cheetah to be a hyena but that's what he's done. Removed the attack fast 305 football and replaced it with Joe Paterno lets read a library, have a cup of tea and analyze football! It's not fun to watch and I'm pretty **** sure not fun to play in.

Smh..do u understand "Deployed"????? I'm fighting for our country currently in Afghanistan...so just stop your not tough so just leave it be...

My only issue is that these bull**** play calls will work vs. Overmatched famu and ark state, and we'll get the false sense of security that coley has a clue.

Win or lose seeing improvement and more complexity to game strategy was what I was looking for. I didn't see much of it. Our game plan was to power run all night and when that was shutdown we had nothing else to go to. We couldn't adjust because that was the only game plan. They expected the O-Line to dominant not get dominated. I see no difference between this game and the bowl game other than if Bridgewater played we would have lost by 30+!! I saw lots of frustration on the faces of our playmakers in the 4th quarter! Golden going to have a big moral problem if he doesn't get that offense going.
