Gerald Willis

if he makes it through the first year without incident I think he finally figured it out and has things under control. That year sitting around will be the most difficult time for him...and the time to sit down with a professional and work out these issues. Hopefully miami gets him one.

dude flat out seemed to never fit there though..he was dissing yall recruits b4 he even got on campus....

i remember stan selling people on him and tellinghim how "live" miami was last yer and trying to get him on board.....

might be diff with his boy stan on the team......plus this seems to be a last chance kind of thing dudes sometime shape up.......

stan might save him. We burned Stan's redshirt in 2013 for no reason, but Willis will have two years with Stan who is a big brother type to him. All Willis needs to realize is the money is right in front of his face all he has to do is stay out of trouble. Hopefully Landon's success will rub off him too. Maybe a trip to New York for the draft can positively impact him

He just has to make it through next season. After that, he will have a fresh start with a new staff. That, and live off campus.

You do realize he was a true freshman at UF right? Dude couldn't make it 4 months in Gainesville but you think he's going to make it over a year here?

I say he doesn't make the end of summer. But maybe being in Miami slows his *** down.

You never know. He's a city kid. From the hood IIRC. Kid like that dropped into a cowtown like Gainesville, alone and left to his own devices as an 18 year old for the first time, would not be the first time a kid like that gets out of hand and goes wild.

He could obviously come to MIami and it will either get 5 times worse, in which case he wont last the summer, or he will fit in better in Miami, maybe with some guys he relates with better, and be able to do his thing, and mature.

Some kids are not cut out for small town College-town life, especially in bumble**** no where, when all there is to do is drink, party, and chase young poon. Being in Miami offers all that x10, but it also could offer a real world type environment for the kid, a place where you "get down to businesses".

Bottom line is, we just don't know. He may well be a head case that wont last anywhere, or he could be one of those city kids that was just a bad fit in a college town, away from home for the first time, and went wild, but can settle down and get it together with some peeps he can relate to, and a new place more his speed.

dude his issues have nothing to do with environment, he has major anger issues.

He stole the cleats from a teammate (why steal shoes you can get for free?), the player confronted him and he proceeds to beat his ***.

During practice he didn't like the way the dline coach was yelling at him, he put his hands on the dline coach. Picture dylan with Wycleff "you too close mon"

then the stuff on the sidelines with jameis winston

he then got into a fight with kelvin taylor in the locker room after practice.

he eventually got kicked off the team and out of school. He and his parents worked out an agreement with school and they allowed him back to class but he would have to work his way back on the team.

He then proceeds to get into another fight, not sure if this was a student or another teammate again. This was the end of his time at uf.

Hahaha yes! My new favorite player on the team.

This is savagery we haven't seen since TDK graced us with his goonness. We must teach him to harness the darkness within because we need that beast in the trenches.

So basically....

- He stole cleats from a Gator
- Punched a few Gators in the face
- Punched a Gator coach in the face
- Beat up Gator's legacy Kelvin Taylor
- Got in to it with Jameis Winson on the sidelines

I ******* love this kid! Welcome to the U.
lmao

A lot of people on here forget that this program was BUILT on bada$$e$ like him. Some figure it out and harness that anger on the field (Jerome Brown/Vince Wilfork/Al Blades) and some don't and get kicked out....(David Williams/Martin Patton)

At this point if you are negative about this pickup, you just don't give a ***** about anything positive and will bash any and everything the program does until we hoist a MNC trophy. Good luck living that life.

This is what the old school Canes were about. They gave zero fvcks about anything. If kid can harness his anger and stay out of trouble with Stan helping him then he could be special.

Any highlights of him this past year? I only found the video of him hitting Jameis? I know he made a great play in the bowl game to force a fumble

I have not read thru all the pages, is there any chance he could play right away? Or is it sit one play 2 or 3?

He has to sit a year. Being completely honest, this a great pickup regardless of how you look at it. Willis has Dobard, a former high school teammate who he is very close with to survive at Miami. It's my understanding he went to UF knowing no one there, so that's one positive. As Kyle mentioned above, with him sitting out a year it's very simple: he either gets his act together and helps contribute or he blows a second opportunity and goes by the wayside. Miami really has nothing to lose in this scenario, could it be a waste? Of course, but Golden has wasted a lot more scholarships on people less deserving.

Atleast he will be a pain for our oline every practice. Let's be real, you can't prepare for great dt's if you only play them in games. This kid is going to work our line and give our dt's a taste of true talent. Great get.

i dont get golden. he loves kids like this and then puts them in a soft system. remember how excited he was to get gionni paul. smh

Stan's going to play an enormous role with this kid. Lets hope Stan can get this kid comfortable. Sky's the limit for Willis.

Willis should live with Folden for a few weeks. Just being around that fat lady would sap all the aggression and testosterone out of him by osmosis. He'd transform from Kimbo Slice to Al Roker pretty quickly.

Folden could go Clockwork Orange on him and strap him in a chair, clothespin his eyes open, and force him to watch hours of UM game tape.

LULZ at Stan as the Mr. Rogers character. With the way Folden fcks everything up, Willis will wind up getting Stan in trouble, and they'll both get booted out.

I'm not buying this. Until this kid is physically on campus, I don't believe this bs for one second.

This goes against anything and everything we know about Al Golden and the Miami admin.

1.) We don't get elite DT's
2.) We only go after "choir boys"
3.) We don't go after elite transfers
4.) We don't get elite DT's
5.) He's a DT, and we don't get good DT's at Miami under Al Golden

Has this been confirmed?? I'm calling BS on this.
Lol, a transfer who has off the field issues.....yeah he wasn't really swimming in options. He did have a chance to play for EL Foldo before and chose not to......clown
