Not healthy. His raven mini and training camp was ailed by injury. Can’t make the club in the tub. Especially if you went undrafted
Nope nfl doesn’t work like that, plenty of talented players get cut regardless of their talent. When you factor in bad work ethic, health issues and numerous past off the field problems it’s hard to find many if any teams giving Willis too many chances. You don’t know what the nfl knows about the numerous fights with former nfl coaches son(you don’t think that gets around to the league), the mysterious 1 year sit out of nowhere in 2017 from Willis as well. The nfl teams knows all of this plus the way Gerald handled his pre draft process was terrible and accumulating injuries in camp. Not to mention he was hit or miss on the field in his own craft. This has nothing to do with a , “sobering reminder of where we are talent wise”. Willis off the field issues and recent injury history plagued himAnother sobering reminder of how far away we are talent-wise from where we need to be.
He was arguably or best and most productive player last year, and he went undrafted and has struggled to find a PS spot, let alone on a team like the Dolphins. Injured or not, if he had undeniable NFL talent he would have been retained somewhere in the league.

Bull****, brock. Our "talent advantage" I keep hearing you guys talk about isn't what you think it is. How long has it been since a UM DT did anything in the NFL? Calais? He played hear a long time ago.
Pre-2005, our best and most productive players became were Round 1 and 2 guys, and many became All-Pros. Now, tell me which of our guys in the league are making that conversation? Who are our elite NFL players?
People talk about our LBs as the best unit, what round grade do you think they'll get?
Which former NFL coach’s son did he get in a fight with?To answer your question other than Calais at dt, Allen Bailey who had 7 sacks last year. Miami just started putting dlineman back in the league again , don’t forget we had al golden who stunted the nfl potential of many hurricane defenders on defense so a lot of them couldn’t showcase what they could do. Another one is Olsen Pierre who outplayed former first round pick Robert nkemdiche for Arizona (he had 5.5 sacks as a dt in 2017). Plus who said anything about a talent advantage? Willis career hasn’t started off right because inconsistencies in his game, not being healthy and most importantly past off the field issues and the way he handled his draft process period. That’s his fault not Miami in regards to off the field issues.
Day 3 picks right now for shaq and Pinckney. Shaq is consistent and has more notoriety than Pinckney so with a strong finish to the season I can See him possibly going 3rd round or so. Pinckney Is a little bit less consistent and needs to ball this year or he’s looking at not getting picked until the 5th or 6th round. And linebacker is just a different position, Mack Wilson was a **** good linebacker for ALABAMA and led one of the better defenses overall in the last couple of years and you know what round he went in? 5th round so it happens everywhere.
Jack del rio or Marty morhinwheg, maybe both.Which former NFL coach’s son did he get in a fight with?
Quarterbacks??? LolJack del rio or Marty morhinwheg, maybe both.
another revealing moment was when Manny Diaz did not congratulate him when he was picked up as a UDFA.Nope nfl doesn’t work like that, plenty of talented players get cut regardless of their talent.
