Because the "mopes" are the only ones that discuss anything like that. As long as he "takes it personal" at some point in a 4 year span he is doing great.

I agree, i hear we're spending 40 mill on this roster but i dont actually see a 40 million roster on paper, we'll see this fall..

You dismiss what they do, and prop up what other schools do. What is the point of this on a Miami Hurricanes fan board?

You a smartest guy in the room type? You really a fan of another team?

I've been bringing this up since last year's class. To my surprise, this narrative hasn't gotten a lot of traction. I think lots of people don't give OL a lot of thought b/c Mario will "figure it out". Besides Francis, virtually every other OL signed by Mario since 2023 is closer to a project than they are to a 5 star. That is concerning and it represents and overreliance (misplaced?) on Mario/Alex to somehow reshape projects into studs like they have Cooper and potentially Bell.

I felt 2025 had too many projects given how many guys we will lose after this year. It's why 2026 was such a critical year for OL and we don't seem to be treating it that way. I'm hopeful b/c the portal can stem the tide a bit but even that isn't a sure thing b/c the portal only typically has 1-2 OL studs and we'll have to compete against the big dogs for them.

We went from 1 draftable player to 7. We track to have another 7-8 again next year.

Mario isnt a miracle worker he is just a good solid coach. He isnt perfect

We didnt hire Nick Saban my man

I'm what you call a realist and look at things from a factual basis. I don't suck off Mario just because he coaches UM. I don't make **** up just to prop him up. You want to live in that world, go right ahead. But I don't subscribe to the delusion that some or our fans do.

Bingo. Not sure how many times I have to say it, but Mario's recruiting of OL here thus far has been eh, at best.

12 total high school OL, only 4 blue chip. The amount of teams (I have posted it prior) who have outrecruited us with regards to blue chip OL is staggering.

And it's not a coincidence the one's at the top constantly produce NFL OL and top end one's. Here is just a comparion since 2023 of Miami to the schools below.

Michigan: 10

With the budget he has, he should be sending 7-8 to the NFL in his sleep. If you want to compare this roster to the Diaz days, knock yourself out and enjoy. I want to win championships, and rather compare our roster to the top tier teams in year 4. We are still a long way away…

When you are spending like a top 5 team, you expect top 5 results. Who the **** spends money and doesn't expect to receive a proper ROI on their investment?

When Diaz had less NFL talent, we weren't spending a ******* dime. How can anyone compare what Diaz produced to Mario?

With that being said, after 3 years of the Diaz/Mario era, they have basically an identical record, but Mario does have more losses to ranked teams, a worse record in November, and more losses as a double digit favorite than Diaz. All while having the highest paid staff in the ACC and a top 7, more likely top 5 NIL budget.

Stop with the excuses.

Those numbers are alarming and not surprising. The scary part is OL should be Mario’s sweet spot. Those numbers should be significantly better and not this hard to establish but here we are.

He signed 10 blue chip o-linemen at oregon including 3 5 stars. It might be more of a Miami problem than it is Mario or mirabal. This program struggles to attract elite trench players consistently. Idk if it’s a geographical thing or what

These kids ain’t lining up to play at miami. They want to play in the sec. Being in the acc is not helping at all. Clemson recruiting has even started to fall off

People underestimate how much of a dumpster fire our program was in the years prior to Mario. There isn't an active coach in college football right now that could have taken our program to that level in 3 years. People one here need to come to the realization that his process is going to take a little bit of time. Mario would probably tell you he's got his most talented and balanced team in 25, so let's see if we can win the ACC

It's a success thing. Miami has sucked for the literal entire lives of every single HS recruit. Not for a stretch while they were in middle school. Or not since they got to high school. Their entire lives, Miami has been *** juice. It's hard to just completely flip that and say OK yep we're going to recruit better than UGA or Taint etc.

Regardless though, just get it done. I don't care who you whiff on, who you get or don't get. I follow recruiting as much as anyone and am as a firm believer in HS recruiting translating to on-field results as anyone, but at the end of the day, 12 Saturdays in the fall are all that matter. That's literally it.

Only 5 of them were cool in 2022. Then 7 of them were cool in 2023. Then 10 of them were cool in 2024. Seems like a pretty decent progression of fun, but I don't know, I might be crazy. Arguing about recruits in May might actually be where it's at as far as being a college football fan. I could be way off here.

I'm only interested in 12 Saturdays that start in about 3.5 months. The rest of this **** is just that. Get enough kids here to form a formidable football team, and win ******* games. Win the league. If you can start to do that consistently, I guarantee you going toe-to-toe for players with the best programs in America becomes a lot easier.

not to mention he had the best QB in school history and in the country last year and still lost 2 reg season games and had a lot closer games than what it should have been given the offense. he doesn't coach D but he hired and now fired that DC for the second time in his short 3 years. this has been more of a project coach than what we should have gotten given the money. I expect some of this stuff esp the issues within the staff and recruiting room with a green coach like Diaz, but not a guy like Mario. I expect more game day issues with Mario but not what is his true claim to fame as an HC is
