Georgia NIL leak on Jackson Cantwell

Point taken on your OP but the bottom comment on the 1st rounders that were 3/2 stars is disingenuous in regards to Mario/Mirabal…what coaches can you say consistently produce 1st rounders that were at the minimum 3 stars out of HS..

I do agree they need to do better on bringing top 100 talent in.

It's to prove a point. That of course you are more likely to product high draft picks with elite talent. Not giving credit to UGA for producing NFL OL talent because they get the best is what's disingenuous.

I get what you’re trying to say but this narrative doesn’t hold any water because the NFL draft is the official scoreboard to monitor player development. Kirby and UGA deserve that credit. On top of that, UGA is a title contender every year? Miami lost this recruitment and the other 5 star OL who’s name escapes me. Plain and simple.
Like i said they'll get the credit because they are landing guys who are projected first round talents out of HS lol, kudos to them for getting the elite guys, but their actual Oline play on the field will tell you the real story.. a guy like Jackson Cantwell will get drafted in the first round 3 years from now even if he underperforms in college because the NFL falls in love w measruables and potential, if he comes outta UGA *** and has a great NFL career UGA will still get the Credit for "developing" him..it is what it is we have to start landing the elite ones to change our perception.

you cant claim that UGA cant develop when the NFL Draft has taken their kids more than they have taken Marios oregons kids or miamis marios kids. now, well have a likely first rounder in Cici this year but guess what, hes a five star elite OL out of HS. he developed here, but using the same argument that everyone is using as a negative for UGA, mario doesnt deserve credit bc he was a five star.

I figured it went over my head, didn’t make much sense otherwise

so does mario not get credit for cisco since he was a five star elite OL out of HS when he goes first next year?

i wont be pounding my chest at all for CICI he was the top OL in his class kudos to them for landing him he came to Miami a first round talent... Ill pound my chest for Mario/Mirabal's development skills if Bell/Cooper get drafted high.

Glad to hear. Not sure you can do it with Bell either considering he was the #1 JUCO OL and has every physical trait and some that NFL teams will drool over. He basically doesn't have to be a bum and he'll go high. Cooper I am with you.

There is a huge sample size with Searels. He’s been around forever. The sample says he sucks.

We all saw him here. Then he went to North Carolina and finished 103rd, 110th and 125th in sack percentage in three years.

Georgia was already the national champion when he got there. Now three years in, they’re 102nd in rushing and their QB ended the season in the hospital.

UGA is great. Searels sucks.
So, Kirby with all his money and offering a dream job for most OL coaches, hires a guy that D$ has determined sucks. That makes sense.

Bringing up the mom being involved and saying “technically not the same position” = Toney being mad about Keelan Marion.

Immediately thought LB but there’s no one else that just got there before Bonner. “Technically not the same position” rules out RB. Would have to be a WR, LB, or DB. Maybe Brantley’s mom or something.

Toney is the only one I can think of whose mom calls the shots that fits those other descriptions.

Part of the reason we have sucked for so long. This kid, who hasn’t done **** when it matters, is upset at more competition coming on? Foh

Poor DMoney having to do damage control for our HC who was supposed to have the super power to recruit, but who now seems to have had a kryptonite stone tied around his neck for the last two recruiting cycles.

There’s no way to spin this. Mario got his *** kicked again. If he can no longer win big recruiting battles, then what does he bring to the table that justifies him being our HC? His gameday corching, time management and decision making has been some of the worst that I’ve ever seen, and no one can really dispute that.

Look what he's done with Anez Cooper. That's coaching

That's great. We all know Mario/Alex are great OL teachers. You know that, we know that.

The issue is that it's tough to recruit against a program which consistently gets an OL drafted in the first round. Making Cooper go from an unheralded 2-3 star to a potentially day 2-3 pick is not as compelling as having a guy get drafted in the first, no matter the journey to get there.

whether we land him or not, they seemed to not have a pulse on this recruitment at all once UGA got more legit. it was beyond obvious to any outsider when he pushed back his commitment multiple times and planned visits.

He'll get credit because he landed him and convinced him to play for the university of miami, but I won't hold CICI up as some great development job by Mario/Mirabal he's came in an elite guy, he's likely still a first rounder even if he was at UGA getting coached by trash *** stacy searels...thats my whole point..

One year of “poor OL” play for their standards doesn’t erase their strong history of sending kids to the league. To your point, they are successful because they recruit at a high level every year.

A discussion that isn’t being discussed enough is why doesn’t Mario recruit more consistently instead of every 3 years? If he did, Miami wouldn’t be desperate to fix the OL once all these OL men leave in December. We have taken too many projects and now he wants to build the OL again.

Yeah you're prolly right about bell, some team will reach because of his traits for sure. That being said not landing cantwell is a failure by Mario, we have to start getting these elite types consistently if we want to change this NFL/Development narrative.

Same goes for Sewell. He was a 4-5 star coming out of HS as well. I guess Mario shouldn't get credit for those guys?

I agree Mario has to be more consistent in landing the elite guys if we ever want to change the narrative on the NFL/Development ..losing Cantwell is a failure no way to spin it.

It’s a problem across the board. We can’t even get a kicker out of HS to replace Borregales after 3 years? It’s frustrating. This roster should be so much better, imo,
