Georgia Coach Mark Richt mad at reporter question

Stubborn to the core and unable to handle criticism.

Always been his biggest flaws.

I definitely have issues with some of Richt's reactions and decisions, however this is not one of them... Zero issue with how he handled this, they just lost a championship game and he straight up punked a reporter for starting his question with "people are saying" as oppose to asking a direct question, Richt put him on the spot and the reporter caved and then couldn't even muster a second question, Richt ends it by defending his team.

Words have meanings and reporters should know that of all people. Also, we know what the reporter was getting at, what does he expect Richt to say? It is a dumb question.

*Scenario* team loses championship game two years in a row, reporter: Coach people say you cant win the big game and neither can your players, how do you respond? Coach: (answer a) we played hard but just came up short; or (b) im proud of this team and wouldn't want to be anywhere else. He is not going to say yeah we suck and my players suck....

Are you people idiots or simply have no life? No coach in America would handle that situation and question better after a game than Richt did. If you think that's being a **** or not handling media pressure, you're clueless and hellbent on trash the guy at every turn.

the point is --- the reporter's question was ON TARGET. do you even remember what the question was ? he asked Richt to comment on his FAILURE TO WIN A BIG GAME ! that was ACCURATE ... Richt couldn't win the big games at Georgia and he was butthurt when he was asked about that.
keep slurping, junior. nobody is trashing Richt. the ****** is stealing 4M a year from Miami and PRODUCING JACK**** !!!
think about this - MIAMI HAS ALREADY PAID RICHT $ 12M ...what has Miami got in return for 12 ******* MILLION DOLLARS ?

im waiting for another smartass answer and won't get one because there is no way to answer that.

Agreed. Two of the laziest/cheapest tactics by so called journalists is to use "Many people are saying...." or to just say "Talk about <insert any topic here>....".

Sadly and infuriatingly, the first one has infiltrated our political discourse too.

All that said, Rick's "clutchness" absolutely can be questioned. It's just funny when the same reporters that love to take the human element out of sports and go the Lebatard route of devotion to analytics will also pull this stuff to get a soundbite or to irk a coach or player.

slurpers are hopeless Bro.

Maybe people who don’t want to fire everyone and shut down the program aren’t slurpers. Maybe you’re just becoming unhinged, searching the web and posting thread after thread of every negative thing you can find or think of.

A vast majority of people on here have justifiable criticisms of Richt. Just because they aren’t as convinced as you are doesn’t make them wrong.

Why can’t that be ok.

Listen a little closer. He questioned Richt and also his QB, Aaron Murray, on their ability to win the big game. Huge difference. Richt stood up for his quarterback after a heartbreaking loss in SEC championship game. Challenged the reporter with class.

How do you think Kirby Smart would have reacted if asked by the same local radio guy about folks saying he and Jake Fromm habitually choke on the big stage? Can't play with or protect a lead?
