I feel like he has had a very Ermon Lane esque career..... promising Jr year, subpar senior year.....fsu signee, barely plays although Ermon changed positions and didn't transfer.....Ermon had one of the worst senior tapes I've ever seen

It wasn't so much that we thought he was overrated. We saw him as more of a look at safety as his hands were suspect at receiver.

I remember a pretty big push and even signing day flip rumors and Hykeem talking **** to fans about how bad our coaches wanted him on Twitter.

he threw some hats but laid the Miami hat back and said he respects the staff and they recruited him the hardest

Not trying to look like a simp, but it could very well be that in recruiting, Mario's first gear puts Norvell's max effort to shame.

I remember seeing him and Innis and they both had everyone here in a frenzy

Pretty amazing neither one has done anything though Innis the OSU people I know they are still high on him, just tough to get playing time there for WRs

Innis will be solid for them. Just hard to play there immediately unless your a talent like Jeramiah Smith. Most of those WR's dont really play until year 2 or 3.

Hykeem was all traits but no game. Couldn't get off the press, cant catch but you still take a a guy like him and hope you can coach him up. FSU had the Donk so it was never going to happen.

That WR class as a whole has been really underwelming if you look at the top 15ish guys. Lotta busts

Well said and ****, WR seems to have an incredibly high bust rate with 5 stars over the years

You feel free to find any quotes brother. I said all along we were never really serious on him until later in the process. There was talk on if wr should even be his position.

It's tough to say brother. You woulda asked me two weeks ago I would've probably said just depth pieces or I'm starting to have a lil concern at lb now. That was when I thought everything was gonna be worked out with zay. But I understand those concerns and hopefully for zays sake and ours a new environment was needed for him. Now I'd say #1 a starting safety is mandatory. #2 probably 1 starter at lb, maybe a Mike just someone with tons of experience and who excells with communication. #3 I'd say either rb or Dl. Dline to me is much like last year. We have the pieces that I feel confident about. BUT we need to get them on the field. Trial by fire. Would like 1 more piece at dt. A back up not a starter. Just like at backer we have quality it just needs the ability to mature. Rb were gonna lean heavy on this year so much like @DMoney told y'all already we'll be looking for a rb3 or 4. Rb will always have some injuries. So gotta fight through those

I'd say move Lucas to Safety, then sign the best WR, LB, and DT we can afford. Then you get a depth S, Depth Rb, and Depth WRs...

Moving Lucas isn't a horrible option. But it is dependent on several factors at corner if it should even be considered. Strongly disagree at wr. Who are you gonna sign out of the portal who's there now that's a better option than the pieces we already have? Please don't say pena cause that means we're stopping the progress of Malachi or the possibility that Ray Ray has turned the corner. Myself I'm still cautious on Ray Ray but when pads came on he did end up having a better camp. Guess the posters were right who said he was just goin half pace up till that point. Cause I definitely didn't see anything to be optimistic about up until that point. I'd love to be wrong. But nothing I see in the portal would make me say I want the best wr available and pay a premium to get him. It's flawed logic. Don't think I'd approach lber that way either unless it's a Mike. It's a ****** position to be in to constantly rely on the portal when it's very hot or miss

I don't think the WR we NEED is in the portal right now, that's why it was so bad we struck out in Winter Portal. We have to pay up to lure someone out. Our WR unit is defcon 1 imo. We have 7 dudes, 1 who is always hurt in Chance, 1 I don't think is good and am not believing he turned a corner in Ray Ray, and then 3 of them are Freshman. Which sure Toney and Moore, maybe you can expect big things from, but Upshaw? No. We have 4 WRs on the roster that should be receiving any real targets. Expecting to go 3 for 3 for freshman to be impact guys right away is asking a lot.

We need like 9 WRs minimum (so adding 2). And we need a top dog that can play on the outside because I think Trader and Toney can play the Slot WR just fine for us. So we shouldn't prioritize slot WR. But we definitely need another outside WR that is going to be good and reliable.
