Keontra Smith missing over a month. Rooster suspended. Avantae suspended. Blades still not right. Harrison-Hunte missed the UVA game. Sam Brooks still not right.

This has been a miserable, miserable month.
Absolutely. We’ve had some rough luck. Also cam Williams transferring out of our program hurt cause maybe he takes some snaps from McCloud. Holley was never gonna play. Blisset career ending injury sucks too because he maybe gives us quality end snaps. King being injured is obviously the big one but still. Some tough luck

Awful, awful, awful.

As much as I hate to admit it, I really felt that the 2021 season died last December when King was laying on the field in Orlando. I convinced myself for the next 8 months that I was wrong, that his rehab was going great, we had all this experience coming back, the offensive staff was back, and we'd continue to take steps forward. But that feeling I had for a couple weeks last December sadly came to fruition. This is certainly not all King's fault, but I really believe that if he never gets hurt and has a full off-season to continue to grow the offense, it's a lot better than what we've seen thus far. Maybe he still gets hurt against Bama and the season goes off the rails no matter what. Who knows? But I truly feel that him not being able to participate for the entirety of the off-season absolutely killed the momentum the offense had last year. Combine that with the defense regressing and all the additional injuries, and here we are.
