at 15 million. FSU has one and Miami is "talking about one". Actions speak louder than words Miami

don't forget about UCF's pristine indoor facility either.

but the good news is.....we getting lights installed on our practice field sometime in the near future! Lights Baby!

I went to UM for undergrad and currently go to UF for med school. The emphasis on athletics is not even comparable. From the top down you can tell how much everyone cares about sports. Even with UF having a terrible year in football, the support never wavered because they have an administration that wont accept mediocrity. I know my alma mater can get to this level. We just need people who care. Its literally heartbreaking, growing up such a huge miami fan and being able to attend the school only to have to watch some of the worst years in miami football. Then attending a rival school, and actually understanding what a real football atmosphere feels like.

we need one badly, more so that it doesn't give Golden another a "cloud" for why he sucks

Try therapy, Miami has always been the underdog. Nothing new here.

More importantly, it's produces more NFL players better than anybody else...

Support the best way you can.

BTW - those same Gators fans were brutal towards Muschamp and the team over the past 2 years. They showed lots more hate than down here. Guess what, next year is going to suck for them too... They have lots of problems, starting with new coaches, new schemes, lots of seniors and juniors entering the draft and a **** poor recruiting class. No Bueno.

If we had an indoor practice facility last year we wouldn't have been playing dodgeball at practice and wouldn't have cancelled the final week of fall practice.

How is it that Miami University can raise $20 million to revamp their athletic facilities and build an indoor training facility, and The U can't?

Yes we just built the Schwartz Center, and refurbished the field but it seems as though we're still behind our competition..

In today's world to raise $15 million isn't really a lot of money, especially with the alumni from The U

our alumni are busy being featured on BROKE and slashing complementary adidas cleats.

there's plenty of space by the IM fields to get an indoor facility,

but of course, current students will be against that. I mean where will frat stars have their cancer awareness softball tournaments?

We lost a lot of funding when Nevin Shapiro got busted. Not just from him , but all the other South Florida Ponzi donors out there that simply got spooked, are laying low, and stopped donating.

Why can't the Frat's play on the field when it's not being used?

of course they can. but I remember reading in the newspaper about the students being opposed to ANYTHING that will decrease the IM field size.

Yeah I don't know why at the very least we can't have a practice bubble like the dolphins. This program is becoming an even bigger joke. Doesn't anyone care down there anymore?

First UF has that old Bull gator money and then the cost to build something in Gainesville is alot lower than the cost to build it in maimi. That $15 million IPF would cost between $20-$25 million in Miami when all the open hands take their cut. So the two situations are very different.

An as for UCF's indoor PF, they built that in 2004 for $4.3 Million dollars, so again you can't compare Miami's current situation an projected cost for an IPF. Also keep in mind UCF's IPF is basically a giant Pole Barn, which in today's FBS landscape is antiquated.

Not to mention IPF have gotten more elaborate over the years an more expensive, so the one Miami builds would have to be stunning (read as expensive) in order to keep up with the Jones's of college football.

Go Canes

don't compare us to schools in the middle of nowhere.

you need to compare us to private schools in MAJOR cities like

USC

wow. there really aren't many private schools in big cities.

FSU just built one for $15 million in 2013 that was supposed to cost $12 million. An that was when the construction is was just getting back on their feet so bids were low, in the next few years the industry will be back up to capacity with even higher design build prices.

VaTech has one under construction now, that will cost $22 Million. Consider this Miami's will have to be nicer than FSU's and Va techs since those are our primary recruiting rivals along with whatever UF builds (which will be competing against the SEC).

Okay then here is Vanderbilts $31 Million Indoor practice facility built in 2013. An so building a similar multipurpose two story facility in Coral Gables would run close to ($31M x 30% COL differential plus 10% per year construction cost inflation) $50 million in 2016 or 2017.
