Miami has an advantage in that many alumni have homes near the South Florida area, and or can travel there much easier with direct flights from wherever they are located.

Also the alumni former NFL players can turn it into a vacation for the weekend, or go down to the Keys, or on to the Caribbean.

Not as easy or as attractive to go to Gainesville or Trailorhassee.

Which is one good reason Hall-of-Famers like Walter Payton, Kellen Winslow, and Jerry Rice send their kids to the U.
