And how well opposing teams’ Tight ends played against them last year?

I’m thinking that TE is our greatest strength on offense and could be deciding factor in winning for us.

I appreciate you going in a little different direction than everybody else by pointing out the importance of TE, and I agree it's an important position. But everybody's right, QB and OL are what will determine how successful our offense can be. Without them the TEs won't be much of a factor.

Now hopefully somebody will answer your question for real.

No doubt @kryptonite about the OL and QB.

Just starting to think about the little things and any advantages we might have on them. Brevin and Mallory can BOTH be the game changers we need. I’m not hearing much talk about either of them.

I think a lot of people around here are excited to see those guys out there this year. We definitely saw the potential of Brevin last year, and I think most people think they can both be really good. If you're not hearing about them it's because people are more worried about the big stuff right now. We'll see what the season brings.

I'd be interested to hear what somebody who watched some uf games thinks of their D. They should be good, but I don't know much about the specifics.

While we're waiting for actual analysis, I found this picture of a former, unnamed uf coach enjoying his retirement.

On purpose. Our coaching staff was going to stay quiet knowing UF may overlook them - until you just blew it - by mentioning them!

We have Gator double agents here - and now the cat is out of the bag.

We lose this game - it's on you, man.

Valid questions, but outside of Nauta at UGa, and probably Alabama (which has great players at every position), I don't think the other SEC teams that played UF last year (and I'd include F$U, who plays UF annually) have dominant TEs or use the TEs as much as Miami does.

It would be great if there was an obvious comparison and evidence of how to use TEs against UF, but I think on this one we just have to go off of our instincts.

Their safeties are the weakness of their D and one of them looks like he will be suspended for the game. Their middle linebacker Reese is a meatball and can't cover for **** if needed. I expect Enos to work the TE early and often.

Agree, good play calling can mitigate some OL deficiencies as well as good qb play.

When it comes to play calling covering OL deficiencies, I mean it helps, but at the end of the day they have to play especially if you're up against a quality opponent as we are.

3-Step Throws:
Pro - OL can short step and block, and QB out of shotgun, no time for pas rushers or blitzing
Con - Can't have longer developing routes, thus DBs/LBs can sit on short throws

Misdirection (i.e., motions or fakes):
Pro - Create space in the defensive backfield and for the ball carrier
Con - Your OC has to be on-point all day to call these plays, and these play calls usually happen later in the game to build up to these play calls

Additional pass pro blockers (i.e., 7 to 8 man pass sets):
Pro - Additional time to throw the ball and doubles up on any match-up issues
Con - Have to be extremely confident your Rec +TE can win that 1 on 1 match-up

There are other ways, but I didn't want to get into it.

I have confident in Enos', so it'll be interesting what he does and how he approach it.
He may have confidence in our OL and the previous regime was just **** poor at identifying their own players weakness' (i.e., square peg round hole scenario).

The first game of the year is the best to unleash a new OC, the opposing team has no film, its great! Personally I think Dan Enos runs a bit of dumber version of the Patriots offense.
