Skeeter (originally of "Skeeter's Big Biscuit") opened Cafe Risque in his wife's name when he was having tax problems. Sadly, all the Skeeter's are now closed (they made it down to Orlando at one point), but the "Li'l Asher" special (and several other Skeeter's Big Biscuit menu items) appeared on the Cafe Risque food menu.

Yes, I can literally tell you that I stopped for the food.

I actually ate at the original skeeters in high school when I went up for gator growl bc a family friend was a student there. Had the Asher Special late night I believe. This was 1982 or 83. I only remember that restaurant and dish, Wilbur Marshall, A Flock of Seagulls and/or Missing Persons for the concert and a whole lot of racist fraternity rednecks.

Downtown Gainesville is actually fancier than Midtown! There’s a steakhouse, a sushi restaurant, and a wine bar, as well as a theatre! Very classy.

I went to waffle house once in Gainesville near the campus, would that been midtown or downtown?

There's only one Waffle House in downtown Hogtown, all the rest are outside of downtown. If it was by a Hungry Howies and a McDonald's, then that's the one near downtown.
