I looked at the class calculator and you get points for every recruit so those little bits (3 stars) add up. You also get a huge bonus with top 10 kids. Hiller is number 2 in the country so he gives them a big bump. When I see our class, it’s heavy on quality. Like it’s kind of ridiculous. 4 of the top 20 is absurd. That’s Saban type stuff. But we also have a lot of top 250 players and top 10 at their position and more 4 stars. And we have more variety of three stars with some high three stars and only one guy (Josh Johnson) that is well into three star range. I think Florida is benefitting from the usual suspects not starting fast (Texas, Georgia, Oh State, USC, and Alabama have smaller classes). I can see them sliding down if their class starts to get poached after a sub par season and the blue bloods start filling out their class. This makes what Mario is doing special and unique. He has top players, a lot of them and then got them to shut it down. Like all of them. Thats like mixing Georgia with Clemson type recruiting. Whatever they are doing really isn’t just about the money. I think the coolest part is how honest and forward they are. When you have this level of commitment from others it’s because they trust you. Salesman need to be liked. Recruiters have to be trusted. Mario and his guys have found a way to be both.
