Haslem is a Canes fan. The way he tells it is that he played at UF, but he's from Miami and grew up a Cane and always will be a Cane.

Right? Because spitting on Jason Williams and his family, throwing a portable fan on his younger daughter, and hitting his older daughter with five pitches wasn't poor sportsmanship.

College softball has always been pretty intense, and it's a fantastic sport. Great regional rivalries that haven't been ruined like football. I really wish Miami would get a team.

In 2021, the WCWC outdrew the MCWS by nearly 60 percent (1.2 million average viewers to 775,000), and in 2022, it set a viewership record in the championship series with an average of 1.7 million viewers during Game 2. It again outdrew the MCWS final. Last year, Game 1 of the WCWS championship series reached 1.9 million viewers with a peak of 2.1 million.

I will add that this is one of the reasons that I did enjoy my two years at UF so much - because I was able to finally have women's teams for sports that I love but Miami doesn't have, such as gymnastics and softball. But it drives me crazy that they act like this, because I just can't support this behavior and I do not condone it at all.
College softball is a really awesome sport, however, and those of you that are into baseball should check out the WCWS. It's really fun to watch and they are great athletes.

Wow, in a way I'm not surprised and as I former rec league softball softball player I can attest to the girls' ability to play. On several occasions we had a couple of girls filling in our men's teams and they were legit. This was almost 30 years ago and I think they've gotten better since that era.

It’s actually the opposite, because the WCWS is on earlier and at the same time as the NBA Finals.

I was simply looking at the standpoint that the WCWS is usually during the week while the MCWS is over the weekend.

WCWS kicks off on a Thursday, runs through the weekend, and then through the next week. It's really not that different.

Oh, I think we are talking about separate things, I was only talking about the finals, my bad!!! I think the finals for the women runs mostly on weekday nights, whereas the men I think runs weekend nights.

I agree with the college softball being a cool sport. I'm sure I'll be clowned, but me and some friends stumbled on the WCWS at a sports bar a few years back and decided we actually enjoy it more than the MCWS. The games are shorter, quicker and typically more exciting.
