Could get ugly quickly
Just for ***** and giggles, here’s their 2026 schedule:

It’s not a gauntlet like the past couple years, but as I’ve been saying, their issue is depth (including injuries). Sumrall even backed me up, which I found hilarious.

The beginning and end of the season are very doable, but that middle is going to be hard for them.

Yeah if he gets to 8 wins that’s a good year; however, that looks like a 5-7 or 6-6 outing.

Hmm I can see 7-5 though 5-7 is preferred, can see them winning one of the Ole Miss or OU matchups just to get their one big home win they occasionally pull off. Have them 3-0 to start before coming back to earth.

Ill divide it like this

Should be easy wins: Campbell, fau

New coaches / roster flip both ways so who knows: UK + Auburn. Both road games so Ill say they split em

Rivalry game + Norvell’s firing looming makes it a bit up in the air; still, UF should win that one.

4-1.

I don’t see it at all: Texas, OU, Ole Miss, and UGA.

4-5

New quarterback: Vandy — however, we don’t know how good he will be by the end of the season.

Will Sellers take a leap?

Can UF stop mizzou’s running game?

I’d say they go 2-1 best case scenario here. That’s 6-6. Cannot see them beating Mizzou. I think Mizzou has a real good chance to be a nine or ten win football team this year. Their running backs are serious & i think they will be improved roster wise with how many ‘canes they got.

UF’s O/U is 7.5. If they beat both UK and Auburn, and upset one of Texas, OU, Ole Miss, or UGA then they can get to 8 while still losing to Mizzou who i think will run the ball down their throats.

I personally believe Philo and Jones play the 1st few games before they decide. If it's a toss up with Philo having the advantage of knowing the system and OC tendencies, I go Jones. Jones has the higher upside.
For some reason, people forget Sumrall is a DC. They forget Kentucky won 10 games because of his defense that got him the HC job at Troy. He did the same at Troy and people didn't seem to see it at Tulane. I expect UF's defense to be much improved. Their DL is about to take a jump. They are spending big again in recruiting. Anyone saying NIL is even across the top is wrong. A lot of the time it isn't. Take USC the last 2 years. A&M and LSU are back on it big this off season. A&M has a good shot at the #1 class because of money. These programs are going bigger right now.

Good points. Another reason the defense should be improved is because where they have had more depth.
