Look, Dallas Wilson may be great, but he had 12 catches last year. Let's wait JUST A MINUTE before crowning him.
Even moreso for Chris Henry. Come on, true freshman. Settle down.
Again, I don't care about "ratings". I know Wilson and Henry are talented, regardless of stars. The more relevant issues are production (Wilson hasn't had much) and transition-to-college (Henry may not be a first year star).
Let's all try to be realistic. First, you HEADLINE the Miami WR room with Baby Jesus and Barkate, the top 2 WRs in the ACC last year with 1,000 yards each. Then, simply from the Portal alone, you add Cam Vaughn, who had two good years at WVU, which is in a P4 conference, and Vandrevius Jacobs, who had a good year at South Carolina, which is in a little conference called the SEC. So two guys who produced good numbers against good competition. And all of that is before I offset all your other "names" with Miami counterparts, like Josh Moore (who had better stats last year than Dallas Wilson did) and Samourian Wingo (who was ranked a mere 40 spots below Henry Jr in the composite rankings).
I don't mind debating, but most of the arguments against my position are based on hype and projection, rather than actual production. No team in the country matches the ESTABLISHED production of Miami's top 4 guys (Baby Jesus and the 3 P4 transfers). Keelan Marion and CJ Daniels are proof positive that we can take quality transfer WRs and get them to 50 catches each. It's not that complicated.
Maybe let's all just back away from the freshman hype machine. I mean, what Baby Jesus did last year was amazing, but let's not expect that from every other freshman WR at every other school. Can we just respect the rare and unique nature of what Malachi did last year?
