DJ had all the talent. He was completely mismanaged. Ignorantly and that is 100% on Billy. His confidence was shattered because of it. The right staff could rehab him, but I think he needs to sit and work for a year. He won't sit at Bayler and I don't believe they have the staff to do what I am referring to.

I think some of Sumrall's decision's are just ignorant. At the same time, he gets a lot out of his players because he demands it. I believe he is about to be successful at UF. I will guess 7 wins this season. I will not be shocked if they get 8 wins. Their schedule is still tough. They are recruiting well. Get your shots in now, is my thought.

Yes, 100%, they are on an upward trajectory and all of college football is better when the Gators are successful. They
have the pieces in position and only need......ahhhh....****....i can't even pretend to do this.....****.....the lizards suck, they will always suck and even when they win they suck at winning.....it's never great to be a lizard.....it's only ever a sorry *** pathetic delusional envy of secretly wishing they could be Canes. I wish we could play 'em again this year and bury their bum asses in the bushes again.

Nah, he may have been mismanaged to a degree, but he was never that good. I bought into the hype a little his freshman year. Several of our posters on this site called DJ out immediately as being overrated and a one trick pony. I wasn’t one of them, but they were right.

He had a strong arm and seemed to have a good grasp of UF’s offensive playbook, but that was about it. Wildly inaccurate and very inconsistent. He could make some amazing throws at times, but so could TVD. Billy Napier and the “injuries” were used and are still being used as the scapegoat for DJ’s failures. The fact is, he’s just not good. Never had it to begin with.

picking the wrong QB can destroy your entire season. And if the HC cant bench someone and go portal shopping cause he is going to hurt someone's feelings, then dont be a head coach. You do what you have to do to win even if you hurt someone's feelings including fanboys of players, winning shuts all that **** up. Should of gotten a better QB in the portal cause they did have a decent roster.

Also Mario is up front about that when he recruits. Like we are recruiting your replacement if it doesn’t work out here and we will always help find a spot for you when you leave because of it. It’s why people like him and he can be upfront and always control the room because he told you from the beginning. So he can say I never lied to you from the jump

DJL had all the potential. But it wasn't just Napier who completely mismanaged the situation, DJ played his part and continues to be a dumbass. Even if you want to blame Napier, phone in classes, not integrating with your teammates while driving a Lambo around Gainseville. That's some grade A **** behavior going on right there.

Agree someone could salvage him if he wasn't such a heel. But he is. And Napier should own that because he recruited him and gladly overlooked a kid who isn't mentally capable of being a CFP QB.

As far as Sumrall, I grant he will most likely get a dead cat bounce. It is REALLY HARD to ***** up as badly as Billy did. But he's way too goofy to make it work as a CFP powerhouse. Lane is the only one I can see getting away with being the social media know-it-all-dork and still make the playoffs consistently.

Sumrall doesn't have it. Just look at his coaching hires. The guy will cap out at 8-9 wins and they'll be right back in the same situation in 4 years. He'll knock off someone and have everyone saying wow, they're back, then lose 3 straight. We've seen this play before, guys..
